If you think you might enjoy it at all, it's worth springing the $10 for the DVD. You won't regret it.

I really like this movie. The performances and the darkness of the material just made it really special and somehow very, very funny.
. . . is emblazoned on a plaque on your mom's headboard?
I knew I could rely on the AV Club commentariat for that one.
MC Shat Kat, and frankly, I like it better that way.
Oh, by the end of the movie it had certainly advanced. But I was struggling to stay awake for much of the middle.
I can appreciate that. What we agree in is that is a weird compromise/mash-up that satisfies neither period art-film fanatics nor fans of schlocky horror films.
Deadpool was far and away the best superhero movie Fox has ever done. It was fun, and engaging, and actually used X-Men characters and mythology in an interesting and creative way. We need more X-Men movies like it.
Can I just say that I didn't really care for The Witch? The nice things this article says about it (e.g., historically accurate to the obsessive detail) are true, but they overlook the fact that it is kind of terribly paced and gets so far up its own ass on the historical stuff that it often forgets to advance the…
See, I love the fact that these are two openly hostile, unpleasant people and that I can see many of my own worst qualities in them. Julie had a line in the season opener that just reeked of open, unwarranted hostility and made me laugh as hard as anything in Lady Dynamite: "Oh, look at me! I like walking outside so I…
I think it's more the texture and delivery of jokes that are complex and niche-specific that she's praising.
I really, really like this show. I'm not exactly surprised that it isn't more popular, but I am surprised I don't hear more about it around here. I know, I know: HULU COMMERCIALS YARGLE BLARGLE. Whatever. It's a funny show and, like Caroline, I can relate to the characters.
Right. It's like someone said, "Gee, American work culture is kind of unhealthy. People work too long to even have time for basic, casual exercise."
So . . . AV Club is panhandling, now?
I would complain about them more, but Overture was just so damned good in the end. I still want a "present day" Sandman story, though.
Love her. Can't wait to see this.
Do you only pick one? Amateur.
Yes. This is exactly what happened with Romney. All of the news outlets were interested in producing polls that showed a too-close-to-call horserace, while people that new anything about the electoral college knew that race would not be close at all. (See Nate Silver, et al.) Add that to the fact that the Democrats…
I like how everyone feigned shock that Debbie Wasserman Schultz wanted Hillary to win over Bernie. Because that woman had all the subtlety and grace of a . . . I can't even think of an appropriate metaphor here.
"Some people say Hitler was a reprehensible mass murderer. Others, that he was a misunderstood loner and that he wasn't so bad. I guess the truth lies somewhere in the middle! This is Wolf Blitzer, for CNN."
