I watched "The Others" last night for the first time in many years. I got a real chill from that scene where the little girl is playing in the wedding dress, and Nicole Kidman mistakes her for an old woman.

Haven't seen it, but that just sounds more disgusting than terrifying.

Yeah, there were several scenes from that movie that really disturbed me, too. The melting faces scene, for sure. Doesn't that take place when she's sitting in class? I think  that part freaked me out, because in many of these movies, the bad stuff happens when people are alone and it's night. You're supposed to be

Good call, as an impressionable 12-year old those paranormal stories, accompanied by the creepy theme music, seriously scared the hell out of me.

The rabbit family was scary as hell! Wasn't Naomi Watts the voice of the mother rabbit?

Your review is excellent, thanks for sharing.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is the very nice remake of the theme from Last of the Mohicans.

"At some point Jesse is going to wonder what did happen to his ricin cigarette if it wasn't stolen to poison Brock."

Yeah, I was kind of wondering about the risk of one of those laundromat employees being able to tie an American guy with glasses and a bandaged nose to the explosion. Although I suppose many of them are illegals who would want to avoid contact with law enforcement.

Haha, that's an interesting point, I wonder if there's any truth to it. I suppose somebody has written a paper entitled "Serialized Crime Dramas and their Effects on Suspects' Knowledge of their Miranda Rights." In David Simon's book "Homicide," he has a wonderful section on how, amazingly, so many suspects continue

Yeah. And won't at least one of those Central American employees at the laundromat remember that the explosion seemed to be caused by two Americans, including one bald guy with glasses and a bandage on his nose?

I agree that Walt has done right by Jesse on a number of occasions, but I'm not sure he has done anything worse to Jesse than letting Jane die. Poisoning Brock might be in the same ballpark, but I don't think it was worse. The scene of Jesse sobbing uncontrollably in the junkie's den after Jane's death might have been

Yeah, I've seen a lot of people mentioning the implausibility of Saul going along with Walt's plan. But is there any evidence that Saul knew exactly what Walt had planned? Walt theoretically could have told Saul number of lies about why he needed the cigarette back. Although…if Saul was not privy to the plan to poison

@ madson: "I still don't buy that Jesse would have made the leap immediately to poison though."

@ StanSitwell: "but then I realized that he knew he wasnt going to give the kid a lethal dose."

Yeah, it wasn't my favorite part of the episode, but I did find it humorous just because of the sheer absurdity that this would be an issue in a small-town city council race.

I think I liked the Sportsdome more than the ONN (although I like the latter as well). ESPN Sports Center is just so ripe for parody, and the Sportszone really nails it. Plus, some of the "faux documentaries," like the one they did about the history of basketball, are just fantastic.

Yeah, that was Adolphus Busch. And I think it was 21, not 25, but all the same, yikes!

Hadn't heard about this; it sounds awesome.

Yeah, that was great. How old is this society, again? And somehow they've deduced the life pattern of a new species on a still unfamiliar world? Yep, that's how science works!
