Very interesting comparison. I was a huge PTA fanboy and didn't get much out of my first viewing of The Master. I recently re-watched it and had it on repeat for days on end. Once you get it, it's the saddest fucking thing in the world. The second to last scene, when you see its import… it just might well destroy you.

Good, good. I may be able to watch it better now. But as someone who hasn't been acclimated to reality shows (I try to avoid being an evil, deranged person), it comes across as fucking weird. I will repeat that I think Nathan is very, very, very good. I fucking love awkward schtick and this guy may have Kyle Mooney

Same form, completely different content.

Ugh. This guy gives me the arrogant rich kid vibes HARD.

No. I'm talking about the mechanics of film production. It feels fake. What you're describing is impossible. I'm not trying to claim that they hired actors. I have no doubt it's all "real" in that sense.

Okay, I've watched a few episodes. I very, very much enjoy the Nathan himself. And the show overall is very funny. But I don't fucking get how you people (yes, you people) can watch the 'normal' people in the show who are his victims/allies/etc. It's reality television shit! What did the producers tell these people

Right, except that he is.

Vince Gilligan should re-do that Edison film strip of the little girl walking down the sidewalk.

Ingmar Bergman should re-do Hostel.

Pudovkin should re-do Pulp Fiction.

Carl Von Dreyer should re-do The Master.

Jacques Tati should re-do Breaking the Waves.

George Lucas should re-do National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Eddie's Island Adventure.

You can just roll it around in your mouth like a medium-sized jawbreaker candy.

The world is deeply ailing. He who cautiously adapts to it by this very act shares in its madness, while the eccentric alone would stand his ground and bid it rave no more.

Because immanent critique is what wrests truth from ideology?

But now she knows. :(

I've never heard a Taylor Swift song. What the fuck is wrong with you people? Presumably you're adults? How could you possibly be exposed to such a thing? What the fuck are you guys watching that would get this in your ear? I'm disgusted with myself that I even know her name.

That's incredible, I had no idea. I just revisited Annie Hall and was so fucking impressed with it as a film. Yes, it's funny, but it also flows fantastically well and jumps around like crazy without missing a beat. It's incredible. I suppose you have to find it funny for it to work, but damn is that a well-structured

No, no, I think it's doing just fine without those.
