I'm not sure I give a shit if African-Americans have moved on. The really disgusting part of this isn't that a black man hit a black woman. The disgusting part is that a man hit a woman. It's not a transgression that only a specific population needs to accept or not.

I pretty much agree, but I have a different sort of hate for the drug-addled asshole with a clear chemical imbalance who eventually self-deprecates (even if only for the PR) than the hate for the asshole who just thinks all sober-like that beating a woman is a rational response to anything.
