Yeah, although the lion turtle specifies bending 'energy' twice, there's never mention of it being called 'energybending'. But, even given that, Amon never claims he's bending energy, spirit, or anything else. He just says that he can take people's bending away, which could mean any number of things.

I don't know that I've said it here before, but if I did, it's worth reiterating: Amon has never claimed that he could energybend. All he has said is that he could take people's bending away permanently. We're the ones filling in that blank.
