I'm fully expecting to see Tenzin finally whip it out against Tarrlok when the time comes.  Midlife mega-battle!

When this episode first came on, my brother and I were really disappointed in its lack of Batman.  To be fair, though, I was ten-ish.  Maybe I'll give it another shot.

I never read the books, but Tom Bombadil sounds like Tingle from The Legend of Zelda and the Antitingle at the same time.  Am I wrong?

@avclub-91546109eaf110327d50b0955865712a:disqus But wouldn't it have been an equally strong statement of power (if not even greater) to take away the bending of the Avatar?  It seems like Tahno has the potential to become a martyr just like Korra did.  Maybe the series is banking on the fact that Tahno is publicly

See (and this has nothing to do with what actually is the case in the series), I feel like the rules should be that you have to use benders of three different styles.  If you can manage to get one of the four (potentially five) airbenders in the world on your team, you should be allowed to use him/her.

Hooray!  It's canon now!

Hey, you're right!  It is.  I thought that might be a bit too clever for Chong, but avatarspiritmedia.net's transcripts show that "broke and broken-hearted" is the correct lyric.
To quote Bender (correctly, I hope!): "She IS well-traveled, and I don't mean she travels a lot."

@avclub-91546109eaf110327d50b0955865712a:disqus  Although I think that will happen, too, it seems like that would just make Tahno a martyr instead of Korra, which Amon expressed a desire to avoid.

I like the idea that @avclub-0e426c437145b137c301c8c34d0060a2:disqus is trying to diversify, so he'll get consideration for more dramatic roles.

Liked this, but if it weren't for the main plot's awesomeness, I wouldn't mind more pro bending.

Can I make a motion that "Fucking Hasook" is his official name now?

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH—There.  She got a pretty good look at them.

@avclub-68c81a145181a6b3092221895a3fd1a9:disqus  Shh!  Didn't you hear what happens when you leak something from an episode of Korra?

I certainly hope so.  I think that would also bring more public awareness to this Amon conflict, which is, I assume, why the whole city's not freaking out about it already.

According to Wikipedia, it's a term that's common to multiple sports; the first use of the term was in 1858 in a cricket match.  After the bowler (HH Stephenson) took three wickets with three consecutive balls (?), the audience took up a collection for him, and presented him with a hat bought with the proceeds.  Huh.

I know a hat trick in hockey is when one player scores three goals in the same game.  I assume that they're using it here to mean one player knocks all three opposing players out of the ring.

Don't fall in love with the traveling girl,
She'll leave you broken-broken heaaaarted.

I've been reading things like (we needed a bit of light humor/funny episode) this a lot on the board here, and I just gotta say… Doesn't it bother anybody that there doesn't seem to be much dramatic continuity (a term I just made up, and if it already exists, may not mean what I'm using it to mean right now)?  What

Where is Kosami?  I DEMAND KOSAMI! You saw that little look they gave each other at the end… Hat trick, indeed.

Wrong color eyes.  Hers are green.
