Back in the late 80s, any track from the Wall coming on was a sign the party was done. (and that from here in 'party' was going to be used a verb, describing an activity that is quite sad.)

When the Tigers broke free?
I prefer the Syd era, and that is a great track but the song I actually most listen to is still 'See Emily Play'
That was the best:
"Do I hear dogs barking on that thing?"
"I do"
"This playlist includes “Cherry Pie” by Warrant"? I just assumed it played 'Raw Power' by the Stooges.
I have no idea if it's more often than not, but I would agree that Montreal is definitely producing cool results in so many areas you could call culture. It can definitely come off as pretentious and driven by a desire to be more European than the rest of us often; but I would rather that by far than the undercurrent…
You got a Pepsi? All I wanted was a Pepsi! And she wouldn't give it to me! Just one Pepsi!
I used to love videos and some video shows. Obviously in the 80s and 90s you couldn't pull up on-demand content but it was stuff I didn't know I wanted that was just as cool.
I didn't like Terry David Mulligan, but watching his 'MuchWest" show let me see stuff I wouldn't have known to ask for.
I had just had the greatest idea for a 'Monkees' reboot…..
And by 'these parts' I mean, 'close enough to Quebec to buy beer'
There is definitely a strong desire to be sophisticated more than anywhere else I have been (cruelly but nicely mocked by CodCo's 'Je veux des cheveux dangereux' song).
It can be viewed as pretentious, but I don't think there is anywhere less anti-intellectual than Montreal.
I had the opposite reaction. They have been in the background for me with my little exposure not really grabbing me.
But damn these are some Canadian answers. I would not have picked that Orwell essay in particular but it is a strong one, and I think I am actually culturally programmed to change emotional states…
Around these parts I think there's a common 'She's French, it was going to be something like that' Part of the upside and downside of Quebec is that they are trying really hard to be something.
Man, "9th & Hennepin" isn't over until "Gun Street Girl" starts.
'Jazz schmazz…I have to go that far. Jazz schmazz'
Less relevant now, but for LP era albums not using shuffle can be huge
Sort of denies the existence of evil doesn't it?
And you likely didn't get MusiquePlus
I think mine came with the 'exactly why are you trying to get off the island? If the Professor gets Mary-Ann then the odds start looking pretty damn good'
Common misconception PH. Charlie Daniels actually cribbed his version from the original lyrics of what would later become the 'State Anthem of the Soviet Union', originally 'the Reactionist Devils went down to the Georgian Soviet Social Republic Only to be Repulsed By The Bravery Of the Comrade Soldiers'
