Haven't sous-vided burgers, works well?
Haven't sous-vided burgers, works well?
"I expect it's God, moving in a mysterious way…" as he traipses off looking for all the world like a fat bastard
I suspect this is mostly regional, but I was talking to some kids about one of the most 80s looks around here. Kodiak work boots tied around like hockey skates just above the ankle missing the top eyes. The hoser skid's answer to the penny loafer.
"This is all like Woodstock all over again. The idea is you play and then you scram! But oh, no, you wouldn't listen, would you? You wanted to hang around, didn't you? And then we got roped into tidying up. Me, you and Carlos Santana, hoovering for six weeks!"
On CMT I assumed?
Neither system is 'fair' in giving unequal favouritism to Catholicism(ON) or French(PQ) but I don't think you can suggest that the even application of vaccination standards is a denial of 'equal rights' (and pretty damn sure you can't sell it to a judge).
There is a point where a parent's choice is endangering…
It is a good line, though I genuinely wonder how true it is. I have found properly insane levels of superstition among the religious.
In my province you can't. Failure to vaccinate against a base list is a suspension until remediated.
Doesn't Quebec, like Ontario, prevent students from coming to school unvaccinated against a minimum list? That could have the unintended consequences of children home-schooled in an 'echo chamber' but I believe it is a reasonable measure.
Overall I like Tim Minchin more than I like his actual work but the 'a small crack appears in my diplomacy-dike' line is perfect.
I happened to hear an interview with Grant Morrison (Scottish comic book guy that I am guessing is more familiar to many here) on CBC radio or somewhere where he advanced the thought that conspiracy theories as a 'secular alternative to religion'. I thought that was a really interesting view.
I would put more like 'make decisions' for their own children, and society deciding when it has become abuse and limiting it. As Archmage suggests there are cultural elements too, is baptizing 'abuse' or 'protection'?
True that the risk remains, but proximity is an issue. While there will always be carriers, I understand the effect is different when the someone is immune or relatively immune (lots of the virus or bacteria) compared to immunized (little to no living infection).
And it's just one symptom of a failing education system, and not likely the worst. Pity educational funds are not distributed at the State level rather than by school district as it seem you do.
Beyond the risk to people who cannot be vaccinated, and the mentioned 'not 100%' part there is the risk of mutation.
It's a bit of a nightmare scenario forming where I huge pool of uninsured are mingled with the antibioticly overprescribed. A formula for breeding 'super-bugs' instead of stamping out dangerous germs.
30 years, more than a dozen albums without a really attempt to get on pop charts.
I went through it once, and that is enough. Not saying there wasn't any worthwhile music in the decade but it was an appalling time for radio.
No understanding for '80s Night's' at all, and the old friends that go to them. I know most of them wouldn't listen to the dreck the first time round.
I hadn't thought so
Can be area. 'Moonlight Shadow' was a huge hit for Mike Oldfield that unless you remember the early 80s well you may have missed
Great track. I put 'In a Big Country' in the same spot. I failing to replicate the success seem to weight pretty heavy to. I always preferred 'Look Away' (off 'the Seer')
