I just beat this yesterday…
…and while you're right about the combat getting repetitive, it's not so hard that it's unbeatable, and I would gladly go through the motions of some unsatisfying gameplay just to see what the game had in store for me next. It's an imperfect game, sure, but it's so laced with the

RIP
This is terrible. Everyone (rightfully) loves Bonnie and Clyde, but Mickey One was an excellent US/Hollywood introduction to the French New Wave. The Left Handed Gun was his first go at cross-breeding a European style film with the American Western. And, again, another great movie. And The Chase? Phenomenal

You know, Dan Draper of Starling/Coopur/Draper/Prise?

Dan and Lane Sitcom?
Listen, I know how incredibly cliched it is to say that two characters on a dramatic show deserve a sitcom. But guess what, they totally do! Maybe an HBO or Showtime pseudo comedy where we just vicariously live through them living it up in the sixties, without all that pesky "character

@scott_tobias Firsties!
I'm glad they saw Gamera. Somehow Umbrellas of Chembourg didn't seem right in the moment.

Peoples is peoples.

Why this movie flopped
My theory? It was a month after 300. Granted, 300 was terrible, but it did tap into the same market as Grindhouse. Weinstein should have gone before, or they should have gone way after (maybe fall). MAYBE it was the length, but most people can only justify spending money on movie tickets once

I'm a vegan from New Jersey who appreciates good comedy, so this show annoys me a lot. Mostly, it's incredibly cliche. Maybe make a character really interested in astrology? Or be really clingy? Because all of that's more original then their constant douche-ness about vegetarians and New Jersey.

I always felt that Firefly was an indirect criticism of Star Trek. How far from The Alliance is The Federation, anyway? That's what I love about Firefly (and why I genuinely hope it doesn't have an intentional libertarian perspective). It's history from the perspective of the losers. Space history,

Try the BEST SHOW GEMS podcast. It gives you a decent idea of what the shows about, although to get an idea of a full show, it's also a good idea to get the whole thing.

Has anyone read the newest Daytripper?
And if so, thoughts? I haven't been able to find it.

I love how in this episode, Topher just turned into a totally Whedonesque crazy, too. He and Summer Glau in Firefly and Dru from Buffy should all go bowling sometime. Crazy, crazy bowling.

Topher? Really!?
At the start of this show, I know I wasn't alone in really hating Topher, and yet I was, as some other people in the comments, moved by his plight. And I was thinking why the show allowed such a shift in his conscience, and I think that it's because he was conceived by Fran Kranz and the writers, not

I'm with you Cheese. I don't laugh a ton at this show, even though I immensely enjoy it, but I totally laughed audibly (or "out loud" as modern youths say) when they referenced The Manchurian Candidate. The weird, but oddly fitting, pop culture references do it for me every time.

Gosh, I didn't mean to ruin your fun. They're in the public sector. They're from Cherry Hill. They own a salon, and life's been just fine to them. So pick away. These recaps are part of the reason I stick with this show (although AI is pretty terrible till the final 12). They give me small bits of catharsis.

I think it's a good point Hyden makes, except that Conan, as many have said before me, was set up for failure. Leno had the benefit of being on a number 1 network throughout the nineties, and 10pm dramas as a local news lead-in which helped out his ratings. Conan had to build a new viewer base on the number 4 network,

I watched Conan from 5th Grade to high school and I'm doing just fine. Now could one of you send me some spare change? I'll DM you my address on twitter.com/David_C_ Really, any little bit helps. God bless.

The two sisters?
I was in a high school play with the younger one. She wasn't weird, but may have been savvy. I think they were doing a schtick that they knew would get them noticed. After all, I'm sure there are hundreds of amazing singers who don't get through cause they don't have the necessary hook. Either way,

Haha, theater.
Nice work, filing this under "theater." I couldn't agree more.

That's my bad. I get the mythology from a thematic perspective, but I get a bit lost with the specifics with such a complex show. I really can't believe it's gotten so interesting and deep considering how much of a chore it was those first few, very shallow episodes.
