I'm not endorsing McCain. In fact, I think he's a pretty big shithead, but do you think this country would be AS bad if he'd been president instead of Bush? He's the very slightly lesser of two evils.

This is a depressing movie,
although I'll admit at the end there was a sort of peace to it. That short conversation between Spacey and Leary about what could have been done- sure it could have been different, but it wasn't and this was a way of closing the book on that disaster of an election.

I know its for charity, but
who is gonna pay for this video on iTunes? Really? I'd rather just GIVE my money to charity than waste precious hard-drive space on this. And Mr. Jr, I expected better from you.

I heard there is gonna be a Boondocks Saints 2.

i thought that was wrong, but the spell check didn't catch it, and I am a slave to technology.

I'm with JTT. Its the most overpraised movies this side of Crash. I'll save my argument for a month from now though.

Bland as a PBS special?
You mean you find Ken Burns BLAND!?

Out of Control Comment (Cheap, too)
This movie is probably the quintessential Errol Morris film. It has everything that I love about the filmmaker, and its astounding that Morris is able to get these nuggets of wisdom from these three guys. Its interesting that almost anyone spending a lifetime on a single subject or

I'm embarrassed by this
but I'm with you on Grandma's Boy. That movie has some good laughs- Jonah Hill's teet suckling, the robot, some of the throwaway line "Did she invent the hand-job?" "I banged Charlie Chaplin."

Love the Savage Lovecast
One of the nine or ten really great podcasts out there.

FIRST!
And for that, I am not even slightly proud. It's great to look back and see the Films That Time have actually forgotten.

The difference between Young and the Spider, according to Colbert? The spider combs his hair.

Anyone Watch Colbert?
He mentioned this. Hilarity ensued.

Yeah. It's got wit and its fun, but its actually a performance. Black isn't simply jerking himself off, but actually creating characters you care about. He never sacrificed the reality of the film and the characters situations to get laughs or show how clever he was. The narration was sometimes a bit self-conscious,

This reminds me
of the Gallagher review in The Hater a few weeks back. Only more dirty… but just as self-aware.

I recall the Knocked Up battle of 07. Tobias gave it an A, while Robinson, she called it one of the most overrated films of the year. T'was a dark time for the av club, but alas-all is well thanks to the glorious cinematic oasis of Shane Black. Mr. Black, you are truly doing God's work.

Great movie, great article
This is an excellent article. articulating all the stuff I've felt about the film perfectly.

I liked the marriage early on
but this past episode it got really sour, so your right. Although is that subplot over or will it continue into next week?

Ethanol
I kind of wish they'd addressed the ethanol issue, especially considering the way the current administration has been pushing it. Its a pretty bad form of alternative energy with a lot of emissions, and as much as I can't stand unhealthy high fructose corn syrup, I'm less interested in the health of those who

Only if every documentary that gets released is influenced by Michael Moore. Standard Operating Procedure and Lake of Fire prove that no, the documentary has not died.
