Andy
Andy is funny because he's a bit slow. He falls out of character sometimes, as throughout the whole pool competition bit, when he talks just too smart. Andy would never use the phrase "failed architect" for instance.

Meta Morfs
"…show's increasing reliance on winking post-modernism and meta-textual gags…"
@LA of the A:
Yes! 4th Floor is P&R's version of Children of Men! Glad Leslie got out of there alive, although none of these folks are probably going to reproduce to keep the world alive, which may be a good thing.
I found this review to be a sort of joyless, over-analytical rehash. Sorry, but I'd just watched the show on Hulu and my high mood plummeted.
I watched 3 shows consecutively on Hulu this AM, this one, Community and P & R. and 30 Rock made me laugh out loud 5/6 times while the other two maybe twice. This was a good, stronger episode for sure, but they're using a string of jokes and established funny character traits to carry the whole thing off. I'm…
Leslie has to be as "sane" as she is to provide the comic contrast when she goes off the edge, like conversing with the city official while riding Andy's back. (Perhaps conversely total nut-job Andy needs to have some down-to-earth limits—like his very sweet, sane response to April turning down the hickey offer at…
"…maybe some people missed that this was a list of things Ron loved to do."
not getting it
Someone earlier said that January's inability to act was proven by the way she kept cracking up during skits that weren't even funny (e.g., the first date clouds scene I'd guess, as it was non-stop hilarity during that one—-unless she was trying to act like a raving wacko, as so many blind dates do turn…
Gosh, Oprah is so much bigger than everyone else. Not fat, but just bigger. Maybe they DID crop her out of another, bigger picture.
I used to pick (not nitpick) on January but now that she is picked on universally I just want to stand up for her. So here I am standing up. And yes, Jeckyl was bothersome, but not so much as the egregious use of egregiously. But we're all getting sloppy, let's face it. So now I'm standing up facing it.
Ron Swanson is a libertarian, not a conservative. There's a real difference there.
I don't get it…
Most of you people must have been watching another show…
was - just - kidding
also noticed
1) Leslie has lost some of her post-baby fat.
courage to be subtle
This show always has little subtle bits that you could take for granted (like Andy's masochistic customer who continually returns for more abuse; the wonderful closeup on the tiny photos of citizens making up Jerry's pointillistic mural) but which work together to create a nearly real, though…
Well, that's like a first date. We're "in a relationship."
Lane Pryce
Is Pryce an attorney? When Don asks Roger and Bert, "Can you do what he does? I can't" is he just referring to a specialized kind of business acumen or to legal skills and knowledge. And Pryce can fire the three because he is (until Jan. 1st) the president of the primary holding firm?
@jbmd: Don's mother.
