Can't say I blame you. That shit is riveting

That's a good point. From now on I won't be seeing any movie that doesn't have Dr J's Smug Seal of Approval

Is anyone else bothered that I his above quote he's too much of a chickenshit to say the n-word? Just say it if you think it's no big deal, it is and you'd be wrong but at least you'd be consistent with your message you asshole.

I liked Nora just fine before this episode but after that scene she shot up to favorite character status. I think the slayer is what really sealed the deal.

I buy the teen party from the pilot more than I bought the party in this episode. I think it makes some degree of sense that these particular teens would develop a nihilistic worldview after their parents/loved ones/friends up and disappeared and I think their party reflects that. It does smack a little of news

That's an excellent point, I hadn't considered that. I do think there is something more to the department though it just seems odd that the government is paying the families of the departed although I would guess insurance companies have found a way to avoid paying out on life insurance policies

This was a solid "B" for me despite the fact that I enjoyed Carrie Coon's performance throughout most of the episode. Tonight just felt like a slightly different show than the one I've been enjoying for the last month. I did enjoy it overall though.
Some observations:
I think Nora was getting the false positives

I have to admit I would absolutely watch Paget Brewster in tights just narrating her every thought like she's manic

Why does a sponge have a buttcrack?

This all sounds fine but I won't be watching this until there is a live action Harvey Birdman movie. With Stephen Colbert as Phil, obviously

Yeah this was pretty good

It's one of the few shows that can consistently get me to laugh out loud. It's so good my roommate will sit through the Leftovers, tolerating the show just so he won't miss a minute of Tonight.

Yes exactly. To a certain degree I understand it- if you're offering up an interpretation of something you'd want to state it emphatically but the problem is she doesn't stop there. I think every review so far has been along the lines of "Oh it's all so obvious what this show is trying to say it would just be so

Steven Spielberg suckers. And his non-union Mexican equivalent

The who's?

Weird timing. I was just cleaning out my closet and came across my old Dragonlance books, this after a buddy and I were fondly reminiscing about how much of a bastard Raistlin was. I kept cleaning but now maybe I'll dust the first book off and give it a read.

I know you all might think this is the Apple people trying to stop Young's Pono any way they can but let me tell you this has Zune's fingerprints all over it.

"I hated this episode. This show has been in free fall all season and the characters I wanted to live died and the ones I wanted to die lived. The quality of this show has really dropped. A-"

I do too. I wasn't affected by the Kickstarter meltdown so I don't really hold any ill will toward him though a lot of people do, it seems. Can't say I blame those people for being pissed at John but his comics were super important to me at one time so I just hope he gets better and lays off the drugs.

I got nostalgic for old PFSC the other day and that was when I found out about the whole Kickstarter thing. Geez, that whole situation is all kinds of messed up. I'm especially bummed because I can't even find the old archives anywhere.
