Well, @avclub-b2c4b2c51fe41bc50bf423450c6e09f0:disqus , it's heinous because he didn't make those wolves dance, damn it!

Look at it this way, sure he made Tarrlok practice something he didn't like against his will, but that's how it is with most children once their parents enlist them in sports.

Yes, besides his backstory, Amon becoming such an easily defeated idiot who swims when his plans fail ("Forget ideals or goals! I'm a fuckin' fish now!") was easily the biggest thing that ruined the finale (and his character).

Actually, I kind of agree. Let's be honest though, Yakkone? Dude was a massive dick.

But seriously, wouldn't that just be hilariously awesome if Amon was somehow Korra's illegitimate father…? Not gonna happen on a Nickelodeon show, but then again, this episode did get away with a lot already, so…

An ending where Amon wins, de-bends everyone, then never uses his powers again and becomes a legitimate world leader would've been fantastic. It would never have happened of course, but that's what fanfiction is for!

I guess it's too much to want Amon to come back and join Team Avatar as the Zuko of the group? Yeah? Thought so.

Say what you will about LOST, but at least it managed to wrap up the character arcs.

Actually, that idea wouldn't have made a terrible finale. Picture this: The reason Amon needed Hiroshi Sato was for him to build a machine, a massive machine that could de-bend everyone in Republic City all at once. The only catch is that Amon is the only one who can power the machine, and doing so might just kill him.
