This adaptation does not make lots of sense
The original Terminator was supposed to be an allegory about greed and selfishness. And we all know the 1980's were the height of this mentality and that's why the movie worked so well. Greed was the main cultural feeling in that decade. Whereas now the main cultural mood is

Punk Rock
I can see that lots of these songs are from punk rock bands. And this makes sense because punk rock has always been enhabited by young, angry kids who do want to get out of their houses and go somewhere else. But I don't know why they think going to a different town is going to save them, because they'll

Relax
Is it the job of every commentator to make fun of every single person in culture on this website? I personally don't believe this guy could act his way out of a bottle of tough actin' TINACTIN but do not attack his personal qualities. And this fad of calling everything a 'douche' is growing tired I fear.

I'm glad you guys are getting a kick but if you look outside the small world of this Club you will find plenty of people with different views. I had bowel problems on LSD, and that is partially why I choose to not do it anymore. You can have the respect to consider my views as ones that are valued. I promise living

Um, I know you are joking but talkign about heroin in regards to politics is idiotic. LSD culture was a part of expanding the consciesness of the society. Heroin only has negative social effects. It was a hard thing to understand unless you were experiencing it first hand.

Again the pessimistic bias pervades the AV Club
You say there is nothing wrong with irony free movies but every time a movie comes along that tries to make people feel good instead of depressed or mean, you give it a bad grade and pan it for not being cool and hip enough. There are people out there who like the

Is it fair?
Is it really fair for an icon as big in persona and short in size to preach drugs and anti-government and leaving Vietnam and free love culture and then all of a sudden abandon it and make everyone feel stupid? Then by the mid-80's he is making albums that are really only an advertisement for synthesizers

I did take LSD once in the early 70's. I do not take or condone drugs any longer, nor did I really back then. But our generation was using it as a political tool to help end a war that was killing lots of American soldiers. And we did end that war. Something your generation has failed to do, I hate to say.

David Letterman Interview
I find it unlikely that Crispin Glover was actuallly on LSD when he appeared on the David Letterman show. From what I understand LSD is upsetting to the bowels and I'm sure he would not want to put himself in a position where he could not attend a restroom because he was on television.

Hudsucker Proxy
Hudsucker Proxy was one of the movies that foreshadowed the Enron collapse and the way corporations are being sued constantly now. But it's not as audacious as it seems because Wall Street did the whole stock manipulation thing first, and with mroe varsimalitude. Hudsucker is a little overwrought with

And just to clarify, Yes obviously I realize these people are not being forced to date and such. What bothers me is how it's making a joke out of the idea of people of different classes being forced to date each other. Just because it doesn't happen here doesn't mean it should be made fun of. There are no 9/11 joke

A bit much, no?
I tried out this show from a few people who said it was funny. But I thought it would be funny in an endearing way, but now after watching it it makes me think its being more exploytative than anything else. They should allow these women to go out with whomever they like. This show is mined for jokes,
