I read The City and the City this year also. I liked it a lot, but it didn't really resonate with me enough to be a "favorite" book. Still, it has me interested in reading more by that author.

Do you have to already care about the characters of a TV show before you watch it?

I disagree that it's his best work (see: Ultimate Spider-Man) but agree that it could be a great TV series. As with all good TV show ideas, I hope this gets picked up by a cable channel, not a network. It was a MAX series for a reason.
