@avclub-b5847c565f0308380cbbc6453b4c438c:disqus are you trying to give @avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus a heart attack?

She had told Jaime to fuck off several times at that point…I too had a burst of sympathy for her, and then I remembered the agonizing process of watching her crush or try to kill everyone who could have been an ally and surrounding herself with sycophants and idiots.

You mean Yara Greyjoy, right? They changed her name to avoid confusion with Osha, apparently. I know, sounds dumb to me too.

I'm guessing they screen-tested blonde eyebrows and it looked like shit. That's the only excuse I can think of.

Davos is such a plodder in the books that Cunningham's seriousface suited him, I thought. Based on all of his two minutes, I love love love Cunningham. S'funny, never pictured Davos as squirrely myself, just wily, grizzled and experienced. Cunningham fits my mental image reaaally closely except for the wily part, but

I guess you're right, though I enjoyed this ep more than you seem to have. But Spartacus always had only about two spheres of action this season: Capua/The Romans, and The Forest/Rebel Camp. This episode had a shit-ton more: Beyond The Wall, King's Landing, Robb At War, Stannis's Court, Dany In The Desert, Arya On The

That's why they color coded them for you.

There are walls that still bear dents from books thrown across the room.

I wondered how that would work (watch the show, then read the book) for newcomers. I assumed the books had enough extra detail that there was plenty to hold your interest; plus, some characterization is subtly different. There's a lot of backstory and setting detail they just don't have time to get to in the show.

I live in America, and I don't totally disagree with you. But the fact that you seem so frustrated that American pop culture focuses on Americans strikes me as a little absurd. I watch Doctor Who, and the Brit-centrism and occasional patriotic chest-beating on that show is silly, but I understand it. American pop

It has the potential to be a better show, but after watching it for one season I can tell they're never going to get there.

It's funny, because TWD tries to take itself seriously, with the brooding tone and the fine camera work and the occasional momentary meditation on a zombie peeling its face off on a broken winshield. But then Lori pipes up, or something, and you remember that it's ultimately a show about a zombocalypse, and you'll

Watch this instead, as far as I can tell it hits the major "plot" points and is moderately amusing - Human Centipede The Musical: http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I went to a similarly massive middle school, and was attacked physically and verbally. I knew kids who had it far worse than I did. Based on my experiences, I see no real relationship between size of school and incidence of bullying.

What about all the movies you like to see that are forced to endure cuts to receive PG-13 or R ratings? Or the fact that those forced cuts are unevenly applied, based on the studio backing the film, or the subject material of the film? Or the fact that the entire process is presided over by a shadowy group of

Yeah, you'd think they could even use legionary tactics against them - a pilum would probably be heavy enough to do a decent job on legionary armor, and a hit on a shield would make it unwieldy to carry.

At least Mad Men's back, and Game of Thrones is starting…next week, right?

Scenes like that make me anxious. I actually spent it working out how I would have handled it as Alicia - "oh, you're on your lunchbreak, I'll ride the elevator down with you while I finish this phone call."
