@avclub-4bbd080bd0e3ad63f431d943bdd01091:disqus - I'm not convinced that Shane thought Rick was dead, actually. I think he thought Rick might as well be dead, since he was in a coma and probably had no more medical care, and that suited him just fine, since Shane could then run away and set up his nice

I love Glenn, but seriously…in what world do you turn to the last pretty girl on earth who just said she loves you and say, "This really isn't working for me."

The fact that the dumb comment system on this site does not allow for spoiler tags is a fucking disgrace. Can't count the times I've skimmed a thread, been spoiled, then belatedly seen the spoiler warning just above…

Yeah, if this were not apparently written by hacks, it could be a good little show.

I was thinking the same thing. "Oh, you know they just had all those Marshall stacks up there to look cool…"

For me, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig are the best parts of the show, and it feels like they are consistently wasted on dumb, terribly written sketches.

That was the best thing about it - Joe Biden, trapped in the Cosby Show - still Joe Biden.

The skit was funny because apparently sportscasters and commentators cannot talk about Jeremy Lin without being fucking racists. The Jackie Robinson clip just put it over the top. I thought it was hilarious, and I hate basketball and only have the vaguest idea who Lin is (Asian American b-ball player is all I knew).

The original State Of Play was a hell of a lot of fun, and I found out about it on the AV Club! I never watched the American remake because there was no way in hell it could have been as good as the original.

You made the point I was trying to make below a lot more succinctly!

I don't know, I feel it's just a matter of time before Asians/South Asians become populous enough where they present some kind of threat, cultural or otherwise, to white America. Then you'll see all those benevolent assumptions about Asians flip.

Fair enough. You know what I meant though!

In nuclear war ravaged Neo-London, Marmite is now a sentient being that spreads *itself* on toast.

@intangible fancy - Yeah, it's definitely a mystery show, which is part of why it appealed to me so much, that feeling of "something strange is happening, and we as the viewers get to find out what it is along with the protagonist." Kind of like the UK Life On Mars (I tried watching the American remake but gave up

Eh, even really great Who eps are often rehashes of plot seeds that have been done a million times before. Turnabout's fair play. Plus, I'm sure the "caught between two realities" concept has been done on The Outer Limits or something.

They should have gone really nutso and made it so in that reality the Constitution is based on the Code Napoleon or something.

I'm predicting at some point he's going to try and merge the realities, which will require actual investigation. Or maybe he'll fall in love with Hot Tennis Coach and just go live in the reality where his son's still alive.

And an appearance by Elegant Victorian Lady, my favorite gimmick poster!

Oh, Terriers, you died too young. Laura Allen popped up on screen and I had a moment of depression.

constant - Mad Men can often be bleak, but if you haven't seen Breaking Bad yet, that show is far bleaker. Don't let that stop you though, you're in for a hell of a ride. I just caught up with Breaking Bad last year. It might even be a more solidly written show than Mad Men, which is pretty great in general.
