And I'm even later. That was one of the stories in the 80s TZ that I remember best. Only, it wasn't Dee Wallace, it was Melinda Dillon. Dee Wallace was in 'Wish Bank', later the same season.

I rather enjoyed Companions of Xanth. One of the missing links between the old text adventures and Myst, I loved how the puzzle solutions were mostly pun-based. I'm not sure more action oriented adventure games these days could pull that off. (Not that there are a lot of them any more.)

We don't have to assume. It was explained that they were isolated and "Perfectly preserved for exactly 30,000 years ago or so." Also, they were pretty ugly.

All you need to know about Kaiser Permanente is to stay away from it unless you fancy yourself Hermes Conrad (and it's clear that you don't). They're one of the most insanely bureaucratic companies I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
