I think they're kind of both, serious and funny.  The only thing that bugs me about them is they sound too much like their influences (Weezer?), but then Aukerman usually gives them shit for that offense.  Aukerman gives Harris shit for everything, which is why he's probably my favorite guest aside from PFT.
