Yes, I think the "oh you had a daughter, that's nice" part had already happened, and we were at the end of the tale, and Red-Livia was just on the edge of her seat and reacting to that point of the story.

I don't think that was ironic (just colorfully stated). That's how I interpreted it too. He can see into the immediate future, after all. She says specifically, "what should I do next?" and he says "shh…" and Astrid comes up with an idea. In other words, what she should do right now is be quiet and let Astrid come up…
Everyone keeps stabbing my brain with their time travel! But ok, I can sort of follow this and go along with it, BUT— I got checked in another post by @avclub-3be42d8a3412057f79af152555e39bd4:disqus (and rightly so) that none of this works because W&M go to 2167 in the Amberverse, which means that particular 2167 has…
I'm a Shakespearean actor, and this show is basically my life. (Last show I directed, I was mopping up an overflowing toilet just behind where the audience was seated watching the performance in a little blackbox theatre like Geoffrey's. Mop bucket squish sort of undermined what I was going for in the show, but…
Ah, I see, you're right, I did misunderstand. And I don't know how to answer that…
@olivececile:disqus Well, and more importantly (if I'm getting what others are saying here) there WASN'T a science expedition team anyway, because of the Season 4 reset. No one in the timeline that we started out watching tonight knew those 12 from when they were on the expedition except Peter (who retained the memory…
My understanding was that it was in 2167 that the scientific breakthrough of increasing intelligence that will *eventually* lead to the Observers occurred. (So, other than global warming, everything is pretty much the same in 2167.)
I still think of him as my scene partner in acting class in college.
This is what bugged me about the theme. My father is a HUGE NERD for orchestral/classical music, and he was crazy about John Williams back in the 70s and 80s. Looking back, I think he was excited that his nerddom was mixing in and being recognized by the pop culture (not that it hadn't before, but still). He gave me…
@avclub-154ff8944e6eac05d0675c95b5b8889d:disqus ince you brought up Valhalla… My understanding is twofold:
1) That Valhalla was the heaven *for warriors*, but there were other heavens for other types of people (I can't remember if it was just two, Valhalla and one for everyone else, or more than that), and
*big hugs from me too*

Someone just brought me one of those Daleks back from Thailand!!! It's gorgeous.

…and she was in charge of the station then, and the point of the conversation was to ask him to leave for his safety. If any of those others had done so, it would be more like advice to a friend, but this was (friendship mixed with) her job.

@Thrasymachus:disqus is right about the reset button not always being a bad thing. When it's bad, it's usually in episodic tv, and it's used to reset to the status quo because the status quo *isn't allowed* to change. So you get great character or story development that doesn't go anywhere, when it could have, and…
