I think the jar of semen was the more shocking visual of that sequence, but maybe I'm just not used to seeing semen represented on television. Between Girls and now Coven, maybe that's "in" for 2013.

Given Nan's mind-reading prowess, I sort of expect a gender-swapped What a Girl Wants where she plays the Mel Gibson role.
She did appear in the first episode, and is in the preview for next week's episode as well. If she appears in all the episodes from then on out, she'll have only missed two episodes of thirteen rather than having only appeared in the first three episodes of thirteen.
I would assume that adoption is a no-no for the sake of passing on the witch gene.
I like that it's specifically a mason jar, because Marie Laveau is too hipster to put semen in any other container. Putting your semen in a mug is so mainstream.
I want Kathy Bates as my own personal slave, just so that i can force her to tilt my TV and keep my viewing of the the shots level.
I am not surprised that networks do this. I've done the whole "going onto blogs and becoming part of a community, just to eventually advertise" thing for media companies I've interned for in the past, so I would assume that networks do it as well. But I'm surprised that it's not an intern (or maybe it is, and its just…
Okay, so when Queenie was uh…getting herself ready for some minotaur loving. Since she's she's a "human voodoo doll," does that mean that she was getting him "ready" as well?
I still prefer Sister Mary Eunice, but Lily Rabe is absolutely fantastic here as usual. She really is perfect for this show. I hope she's the lead in season four, or they just really grow her character this season.
I think they don't kill the younger supremes out of some sort of "this is the tradition, it's what we do" thing. Fiona is just sort of a badass bitch and challenged that.
I'm fairly certain that Madison will come back, since it's Emma Roberts and she is in the opening credits (Angela Bassett, meanwhile, is not, I believe). Also, there are ways of resurrecting the dead in this show, thanks to Misty Day, but the undead trope can only be used so many times.
Oh, I forgot about her for a moment. Possibly, although how many undead can they have on the show?
Right on cue.
It seems like Fiona will kill Madison in any moment, and has for most of this episode. But I'm not eager to see Madison go, she's been pretty awesome this episode so I'm hoping she makes it through.
I think some parts are really coherent, and other parts are not. The stories of Madison, Marie, Delphine, Zoe, Kyle, and Fiona are all making sense. The story of Cordelia makes sense, but is separate. Queenie's story feels like pure shock value (and so did at least the scene with Kyle and his mother).
Mothers jerking off zombie sons, teenagers masturbating to murderous 200 year old minotaur-slaves (and considering she's a voodoo - is she jerking off him as well?), and baby rituals by getting naked under goat's blood. Welp.
Don't do it, Queenie!
That is a lot of semen.
How to top the craziness of a minotaur: have a mother jerk off her undead son.
Oh gross. Oh gross. I saw this coming but oh gross. Oh gross.
