I have a recurring thing (mind I've seen a lot of Sunny and am a big fan) where I ïntroduce it as Always Funny in…  when I talk about it.  Just a mental slip but also apt.

Poo

I can see being cynical about this film or not enjoying it, different strokes and all - I think it has more to say than the props it uses for the story - but at least you're not comparing it to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and you're also explaining your objections coherently and with humour - kudos.

Fantastic write-up - please read from the book of Juanito, sacrelicious

You are completely wrong - as others have said, it's laid out from the first scene.  Aside from that it's not a whodunnit 'gotcha' kind of twist, it takes the whole film to get there.  You're thinking about the possibilities on offer the whole time but can't quite confirm it, hence the rewatchability (for some).

I was well aware of the twist just from hearing what Shutter Island was about (didn't see the trailer but will see almost any Scorsese at the cinema as long as there's a possibility of violence) but enjoyed the film thoroughly (although at least one of the people I saw it with categorically hated it).  I thought the

Just wanted to add that this subthread that, even though I think the snow fortress parts are the weakest part of this fim, they do fit into the idea of the dream levels.  At that point of "depth"the easiest thing for Ellen Page's character to do would be to make a big white canvas with a bunch of basic shapes that

Help me Ja Rule!

Hey sunshine, the other old guy is right about the tattoos and the study.  I appreciate your take on Wilco - I'm only a casual  fan but have a good friend with a vast collection who claims they're his favourite band - but really dug the way you summed up a young American attitude to 9/11.  Not something I'd heard

And God only knows what happened to my uncool niece.

Wow - first thing I thought was 'Shit hits the Fan' by the Circle Jerks.  So disappointed I had to login after god knows to register my disappointment.  Different generation I guess…

I've been reading and am almost finished Waging Heavy Peace and can't disagree with anything Steve's said (although the feeble attempt to replicate part seems a little harsh).  Neil's obviously no writer but it's still good as a fan to be able to read his unfiltered ramblings.  Seems like a few drunken conversations

Really looking forward to Oct. 30 - I got a gift voucher and all!

As well you should be - nothing worse than some moron spouting nonsense …ït's like the issue I had with Élection'…" and then inform you that they have absolutely no basis for their pontifications.  "Falling Down" is a good film, not great.  Flawed but interesting.  As much as I like Tasha I'm of the opinion she is

You mustn't be that good at thinking then.
