Yeah, I'm pretty into drugs (philosophically, at least) so that didn't sit too well w me. However, as Wilkins says, it's pretty in keeping w what I'd expect from Ten.

Grr, Victory of the Daleks, grumble grumble…

motherfucker needs to diversify his streams, yo.

Joel Hodgson, that you?

opii, surely?

HOT.

clitoral, surely?

I love His Dark Materials. Yes, it ends w pre-teens saving the multiverse by having sex (or at least sexy thoughts 'bout each other), but y'know, Moonrise Kingdom. So I'm ok w it overall.

Any controversial historical period offers tantalizing opportunities that the show probably wouldn't take. I mean, I love Doctor Who, but handling nuance just isn't something it's really built for. Which is why I wish it'd shy away from things like mindlessly lionizing Churchill, but that's a whole other hobby horse

Yeah, Torchwood is pretty fun, if inconsistent, in Series 1 and 2, and Children of Earth is justly celebrated, but I've only watched the first ep or two of Miracle Day and have no desire to finish it.

Spot on w comparing Ten/Rose to Joel/Clementine. That makes a lot of sense to me.

If I'm ranking the RTD finales:

Well, the Mary Celeste incident is handled (hilariously) in The Chase.

True, but Gene Wilder as Four is unimpeachable.

No, that'd be Paradise Towers, then.

HAI!!!

oh, come on now… I actually quite like Planet of the Daleks.

Nah, his take on obsessive anorak fandom is pretty spot on. He loves fandom overall though, because LINDA is awesome, and also a fan club.

See, I love that Victor Kennedy = Ian Levine. That man, missing episode discoveries aside, is a bully and an ass who deserves to have the piss taken out of him.

Well, I had a lengthy screed on the ending ready to go, but y'all have pretty much made my points for me here. I can't and won't defend the (implied) blowjob joke itself, but I do find some of the overreactions to Elton and Ursula's relationship (again, not on this particular thread at the time of my writing)
