As Marvel Studios continues its commitment to stay in its lane work, I kind of appreciate Spider-man 3's complete gonzoness more, even if it doesn't all work.

Trek Movie Villain Rankings:

Yeah. It wasn't perfect, but it was a well cast, perfectly fun watch, and Atwell's a great lead. And by virtue of being set back in the 1940s, it doesn't get too overwhelmed with franchise service; it can just be its own thing.

Indeed, Winter Solider is just like a 70s paranoid thriller, you know, where you can only trust everyone you trusted when you started the movie, and can't trust anyone who's obviously a terrible bad guy.

Mexican Superman? I think you mean El Hombre de Moleculos!

Millions and millions of dollars, probably? Gifters gonna grift.

In part because, like in Mission Impossible 4, it really is Tom Cruise up there hanging off an airplane. He may be cuckoo, but his commitment to actually doing physical stunts helps these movies stand up in the current CGI-topia.

Eh, it's less that than that both the two most recent Presidents, because they ran as "Washington outsiders" and had limited experience, picked VP candidates that balanced the ticket by being older and, in Cheney's case, less an elected politician than an 'old Washington wise man.' Yeah, that Dayton Agreement, withdrawal of Serb forces from Kosovo, and International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia was the worst.

Yeah, much depends on how the Noah era works. I suspect Colbert will be very popular with those guests, as he's a good

Yeah, Yugoslavia/Bosnia/Serbia/Kosovo was just fine and dandy before Clinton got there.

Yeah, whatever could be going on in Yemen that might complicate releasing prisoners there…

Or he'll just end up on Fallon, Kimmel, and Colbert when he's got a book to sell, mixing it with 'serious' interviews on 60 Minutes and Sunday shows.

As Commander in Chief he can order the Commander, US Southern Command (the Joint Chiefs are an advisory role outside of the Chain of Command, which since 1986 goes POTUS, SecDef, Regional Commanders) to close the remaining camps at Guantanamo (Camp X-Ray's been closed since 2002, as it was a temporary facility).

Errrr go get pissed at Congress about Gitmo. They're the ones who pretty much make it impossible to close it.

Counterpoint:

Although it's funny, given that Goldeneye would be even better (or at least its themes of outdatedness and post-Cold War adjustment make more sense) with Dalton in the role.

The human? It's the part I was born to play, baby!

Yeah, when the AV Club collaborates with a blackmailer to out a magazine editor nobody's ever heard of, and then the staff compares removing the post to the rise of Hitler, then we can talk about the Gawkerfication of the site.
