Scream for the entry point?
I am a reasonable fan of Scream. It has some good moments and is a lot more fun than your average "slasher" flick, but I don't like the idea of it being an entry point for someone who wants to start an education on the genre.

Poor Endings
I think the standard form the Three-camera sitcom tends to make endings difficult. It only has a two act structure. You get a 1-2 minute teaser, two acts, and a one minute capper. Since BBT tends to use the teaser to set up the basic conflict, you could call it three acts, but since it is so slight…
