It is, but it's the kind of cop show that cares more about apocalyptic dread and bleak philosophizing than the actual crime. If you like bleak and brutal and brilliant it's really fantastic.

The odd thing is that Cameron's and Joe's visions seem like their almost the same thing. Like, she wants computer to display a million pixels, beat her at chess and be intelligent systems, so… they basically need to be cheaper and faster.

It is pretty surprising that no one's ever done a zombie TV show before The Walking Dead, that I know of at least.

If they'd stop firing their showrunner every season it'd have more of a chance to build up some quality momentum.

He doesn't exactly stop the pop culture references, they probably get less frequent and they're contextualized a bit more as a coping mechanism.

Farscape also gets much better as it goes. Towards the end of the first season is when it really starts getting good.
