If you're able to articulate at such an early point in the series, how much political thinky-insights does an ideal version of this show represent? Do you want to communicate a thesis? Or simply reveal truth when you have opportunity to do so?

Oh word forgot about him. Always have liked what I've read.
Speak for yourself. House of Games is one of the worst things I've ever seen.
Each show is graded in relation to itself. If it was on a universal scale, all shows not The Sopranos, The Wire, AD, or Breaking Bad would barely break into the Bs, at best.
tbh I've been a stalwart defender of this season but after this episode I'm starting to feel the loss of Fukunaga and Woody Harrelson. I think no question Fukunaga stays on, this season is better. Sounds like he was a bit of a mess and it's pretty clear they didn't get along but the proof is in the pudding.
Really? I feel like most of what he says from the pilot onward has been about showing it.
Very cool, a Dr. Strangelove type approach. And it's okay, you can admit that House of Cards is shitty.
Fun fact: in his famous Woodstock performance, Santana is making the scrunched up faces because he was on acid and his guitar kept turning into a snake, and he had to turn it back.
From rumors I've gathered, it was more the working of a vengeful exec who hated Milch than anything. If that's the case, fuuuuuck that guy(or lady)
Well, okay let's calm down he's not some malevolent force. But honestly is this the first time you've had a problem with an AV Club reviewer? Since TvdW left the only one I find insightful and helpful to broadening my understanding of the show is Donna Bowman.
I think she's great but I really loathe her role in the show. All I can think about whenever it happens is Buffy's atrocious 90s music. Pizzolatto should honestly think about being less hands-on when it comes to music, because he's not very good at it.
Totally disagree. I would like to see more shows shell out the $$ for closers from people like Lennon or Hendrix.
Enjoyed it so far - what, in your own mind at least, is the potential of this show? The pace on this show is fantastic, btw. Every episode flies by.
Fuck you man Arliss was the shit
Dwayne Johnson is just straight up a great performer. I mean, I actually called him Dwayne Johnson and not The Rock!
Are you familiar with Ingmar Bergman? It was a straight up color version of Persona.
Ugh, have some appreciation for his poetry. My theory is he WANTS people to use subtitles. Wtf is so wrong with that? It's a different experience and deepens appreciation for the words on the page.
To my eyes it was pretty clearly a Persona homage.
Totally. Bryan Fuller has brought Bergman to the small screen and I am fucking loving it.
You didn't watch House of Cards?
