Obviously
This whole fiasco is, in fact, an elaborately staged Phantom of the Opera/Marvel Comics meta-crossover.

I'm playing Half Life 2 for the first time (Steam for Mac! Hello greatest hits of 2005!) and there's an achievement for getting the crowbar. You know, the very first weapon? Which there is actually no way to avoid acquiring as long as you play the game for, oh, five minutes or so? I got an achievement for that.

No, it's better if it's unregistered.

I'll log in for this
Seriously, this is bullshit, AV Club. Keep the ads on the sidebar.

Also, if you enjoy things that are terrible.

Ugh. Chuck Norris is not a bad ass. He's a washed up C movie actor with reactionary political beliefs and that's it. No more.

I want to know how the managed to fit so many ducks in there.

Cover blurb
"Enticing!"- Ellen Wernecke

I'm actually a fan of Audrey's "What happened, did she die or something?" It's a nice reminder that she is, after all, a naive little teenager.

I was thinking that "The Future That Was" would make a great ongoing column, just review science fiction from various eras and take note of the various World of Tomorrow! details that are obviously rooted in the films own time period.

Weird
Posting this edition seems to have somehow sucked the AV Club homepage into a black hole. Or is it a black… LODGE?!

Pet peeve
It hasn't been "Czechoslovakia" since 1993. It is either the Czech Republic or Slovakia, depending, you know, on which of the two countries he's talking about. Please help get the word out.

The only reason I read this article is because I thought the Pope had died again and hadn't been replaced yet.

Well, shit, now that I know it's taken, I'm going to have to start using my backup. From now on, look for me under the name "Zweibel".

There was an article in Newsweek that made a case referring to my generation as "Generation X-Wing"…

Well, I have the first two Katamari, but I was under the impression that there was a third? I think it's for the psp or some-such.

Oh jesus. I never realized the connection before.

Just as an addendum: the original Katamari only cost 20, I'm pretty sure, so the price for this doesn't really seem like much of a bargain either.

I loved Katamari
but there's at least three games by the original creators I can play to get that particular fix. Why does this exist? I read the review trying to see if this game brings anything new to the table, and the answer seems to be a pretty unequivocal "no." In fact, it really just looks like a pale
