Hearing the premise of the show, I felt the same way you did. But after watching a few episodes I changed my mind. I think it's more than grief, people are going crazy even though I guess grief is a kind of craziness.

I don't see any problem with using it twice. They're both about depression to some extent. I don't see a problem with using a pop cultural thing of the moment either. Might be on some people's minds.

Discipline as in not being weak. Laurie accuses Meg of being weak in this episode. Meg says she isn't weak.

I like Mrs. Weasley. So the Gingers are the good Scots? Mr. Hunk-Glutton-for-Punishment and the abortion witch. And the kid? Could we have something like Game of Thrones: "The seed is strong"?

He was asking about the Tenderloin because he wanted to go the dance hall there. At first I think Dr. Edwards thought what you're thinking but then he warmed up and suggested Bertie go bet at the tracks or do something else instead because he'll catch VD at the dance hall. I wouldn't be surprised if Bertie's gay but

Turning out to be my favorite show of the year other than Game of Thrones. Up there with The Americans, Person of Interest and Orphan Black. When the credits roll at the end, you think "wow that went fast." Good job, Skinemax.

Yeah Michael Angarano is good. I remember him from the movie Gentleman Broncos and he was on Drunk History the other night as Walt Disney with Tony Hale as Disney's cartoon-drawing partner.

The father probably put Cornelia in as "his proxy" because she's family; she's the most capable of his children (or possible his only child) and he can control her. They didn't explain it, but my guess is that Cornelia chose Dr. Edwards and she did so because he was the best candidate. (Or she shared Chris Rock's view

The Earth Republic reminds me a lot of the United States Patriots or whatever they were called on Revolution. And now in Hell on Wheels, you have the carpetbaggers coming to clean up Cheyenne.

It reminded me of The Wire as well. Cerisola and Clio are working with the CIA. The new Mexican government had a deal with Clio and the CIA: if the government kicks out the DEA, Clio and the CIA will tamp down the violence. Win-win. See China, the British Empire and the Opium trade. Drugs still flow, but Mexico is

I like this show. They've done some interesting world-building. Never got into Lost. Carrie Coon has been a revelation.

Hendricks was probably pulling down the flyers so that Bill and Gini pull in white patients rather than black ones thereby helping to integrate and drum up business. His speech was pretty impressive and reminded me of Clive Owen's eugoogly in The Knick.

Okay my prediction: Barbie tells Julia how to escape the Dome. Julia leads the people of Chester's Mill to Zenith. But then the Dome comes down over Zenith and another cow is chopped in half. Doh! Now they have a larger city to work with.

I fought the Dome and the Dome won

I think Abe was just trying to take some time to recruit Eph to his cause of decapitating all of the zombie vampires, but he didn't expect much. So when Eph went off on his own with the video Abe wasn't surprised. It was funny though.

Wasn't expecting the zombie vampire epidemic to hit so quickly. There's a bunch in the sewers and then they came out at night and attacked whereever Nora was at, a retirement home or hospital.

You must have loved Soderbergh's Che.

I disagree. The scuzzy health department worker, battling ambulance drivers and child laborer made it more real for me, setting the place. Maybe the dialogue was a little to obvious, but they squeezed a lot in the pilot. I'm not totally gung-ho on social realism in fiction but the cheapness of life is a big part of

I like those shows you mention but The Knick does have something extra plus the great production values. I was pleasantly surprised as well. Could be Skinemax's best series yet. Starz is also heavily promoting Outlander.
