Good points. Yeah the Saudis and OPEC held gas prices down. John Oliver's new show had a bunch of recent clips where John McCain tells the same joke over and over in different venues: that Russia is a gas station with an army or something like that.

Funding religious extremists in Afghanistan via the ISI? Yeah that worked out well.

The Targaryens wed brother and sister for centuries.

I'd add Lady Olenna who is very capable and helped put an end to Joffrey's reign of terror. She has a lot of respect for Cersei's smarts (unlike Tywin and Tyrion who don't) and warns Margaery to get to Tommen before Cersei can turn him away against her. Missandei, Dany's translator is a strong character. And Meera

Oh I agree at best Jaime is a mixed character. But for me he was on a redemptive arc, he was getting better as in the books. I mean if you just saw this last episode and knew nothing else about him, you'd guess he was pretty good guy. If Brienne and Tyrion witnessed the scene in the sept, I think they'd be like "eww

edited out for tackiness. hey she brought it up.

Yeah it's SO much better getting your panties in a twist over what someone writes on the Internet. I'd say they're about the same level of inconsequential.

Another commenter quoted something Stannis said about the good doesn't wash out the bad, nor the bad the good.

You only get offended and bothered by what someone writes on a message board.

What have YOU done except complain about the complainers on a message board? Nothing I bet. Your women "friends" probably know their place which is why they don't complain. They're not a representative sample.

Yeah that was brutal. I was hoping Bran would warg into Hodor and start wrecking house.

yeah Big Head is stuck in limbo. That was hilarious when the Hoolio guys were asking him questions and he had no idea what they were talking about.

Good review. I loved how Richard and Erlich finally came together to become partners. They should invite Jared to the next party. He took one for the team by giving Richard his pants.

We're all just jealous of Oregon so that was some Schadenfreude that its website didn't work. They seemed to be conflating Oregon with Zooey Deschanel which isn't really fair (and I love Deschanel.)

Loved the Targaryen banner Dany put up on the pyramid. It was kind of hard to see from the alleyway.

I bet they have Barristan and Jorah quarrel in some and then Selmy outs Mormont for being a spy and Dany exiles him b/c he won't apologize sincerely.

I agree. Another example is that Oberyn hates the Lannisters because the Mountain *raped* and killed his sister.

We just disagree. I don't think most of the complaints were simply that the show added another rape. There might be something to the idea that the rapes and Theon's torture porn are exploitative. But there was the Dany-Drogo wedding night scene. The almost rapes of Brienne and Sansa. The rapists in the Nights Watch.

Yeah basically. Jaime was on an arc of redemption, as in the book. Then he rapes Cersei out of the blue, unlike in the book. That was my criticism. As I expected, this week the show acts like it never happened and the bad Jaime who threw Bran out of the window has still changed to the good Jaime who goes to see Tyrion

Someone put it well last week. The scene in the book wasn't rape. But it was a tiny bit forced and weird. The writers/director probably were afraid of making in ambiguous and controversial (yes means no, etc.) so they made it more *explicitly* rapey. But then their comments when asked about it were weird, as if they
