"All I was stating was there was a MUCH better hour of television elsewhere last night."

@avclub-cc5f9169331b7f56305ea27ccee6612e:disqus I read the books and they had a number of strong female characters like Ayra, Catelyn, Brienne, Yara/Asha, Cersei, Margarey Tyrell, Osha, Ygritte, the Queen of Thorns, the Sand Sisters, Daenerys who grows and Sansa who grows.

I tried watching it but was fucking bored to tears. What's the subject matter? Office politics and extra-marital affairs? Big fuckin deal.
My guess is that women like because of the main guy who's attractive. Men like it because it harkens back to a day when women knew their place and Sinatra was cool. Plus no blacks.

Dinklage should win another Golden Globe or something. My favorite scenes are when he's yucking it up with newly made friends, like last season with Yoren (alas!) at the Wall or with Bronn and Shae in his tent.

Well you have a right to your opinions. A lot of people like Mad Men and a lot like Game of Thrones.

I saw a couple of episodes of Mad Men but couldn't stick with it. I have no understanding why a show about an ad agency is so popular.

Wow what a mind-blowing hour of television! I had high exepctations and they were exceeded!

I loved how they were looking out for the ships entering the bay. And how Davos heard the bells.

They should have a scene where he's dreaming and is very eloquent and articulate. Maybe he's bantering away with Tyrion, Varys and Jaime.

@avclub-ef062084a1c4a3584af1d4f8e514ea50:disqus Completely agree. Season 1 Jorah was more badass than season 2 Mormont. Maybe it was that time wandering the Red Waste.

Very thought-provoking. One of the debates that happens repeatedly between leaders and their lieutenants is how humane or ruthless to be. Theon and Cleftjaw-Finchy. Stannis and Davos: "Clean methods don't win wars." Robb and Roose Bolton (and other bannermen) over torture/flaying and the treatment of prisoners. Tyrion
