I thought for sure she was going to order Bronn executed, both as the punishment she thinks Jaime himself should have doled out, and to show Jaime not to fuck with her.

Yeah, the scene of LF and Sansa watching Arya's duel last episode was odd. Everyone twirled their respective mustaches, and I'm going, "well, yeah, she's a good fighter now. How does this become an element of intrigue?" Maybe that was just LF taking stock of her abilities and realizing she could easily kill him.

Ah, that's a fair point. Still, didn't Jon at least come back with the dragonglass? Wouldn't that at reassure them of his leadership, that he got the mighty Dragon Queen to grant him what he wanted? Also, did Jon even bother stopping and saying "hi" to Sansa and others on his way north of the wall? I thought that

You're probably right. It just seems like for a guy who's as conniving as he is, he'd have SOME kind of plan in place.

You mean claim it in the place of Jon? Hmm. I'm not sure how that would work, since she's only babysitting while he's away. I don't see how shaking anyone's respect for her would result in her being able to take over anything—they seem to be barely tolerating her as it is. But, who knows.

So what's Littlefinger's end-game here? He's obviously interested in sowing discord between Sansa and Arya. So—what? Sansa gets called on the carpet for her supposed self-interest, and then…what? They put Arya in charge, with Littlefinger her consultant? I'm just not seeing what his path here is.

I don't know—seems like Sansa should be the one to kill him, rather than Arya.

You think? I thought it was all about "I love my wife! I wasn't messing around with any interns like Bill!" At any rate, we agree it was awful. Ick.

I knew it even as I said it. What's the thing now? Emoji band names? Punctuation only? Not having a name at all? God I'm old.

I dunno. I think we would have been spared Gore's awful kiss with his wife had he not felt the need to prove his fidelity in the wake of the Clinton scandal.

Wolf Buttons. That's a band now, right?

It's really a perfect line. It should be embroidered on pillows.

I don't know that I have an opinion on the song itself, but good GOD is that album cover awful.

I don't have the association with '97, because I think I discovered in '98. That was the start of my Dylan fandom—prompted, by all things, by MTV playing the video to Not Dark Yet. Still my favorite album of his.

Yep. I finally ditched a lot of my old VHS tapes a few years back, which were loaded with recordings like this. If there was something featuring U2/David Bowie/Depeche Mode, I recorded it!

Best song on the album. I think I'd still consider it their best album since Pop.

Yes. 1997 basically began with me picking up Earthling, and then Pop just a few weeks later. I think it's because of those albums that 1997 has such a distinctive aesthetic for me.

I remember ALMOST getting the 2nd import Last Night on Earth single, before deciding that a single remix or whatever was just not worth the $10.

Yep. Oh, I've hung on since then, and convinced myself at the time that the following two albums were still really good, but Pop is kind of the last one that I'll still listen to on a semi-regular basis.

For me, it was kind of all about U2 - Pop. I'll still defend the album.
