Agreed on Saucer, too. I guess for as revered as Piper is, I've never really connected with it too much. I might even say I prefer their other early singles over it. I think See Emily Play is the best thing Syd did.

I kind of group ATH with the other ones you mentioned, all as kind of interesting failures. But I still probably listen to all of them more frequently than Piper.
I'm very much looking forward to this set. I'm a sucker for big Pink Floyd boxes.
You talking about the other DB songs?
Correct. Can't upvote, as I don't approve of Wright's death.
Hasn't he even walked back the infamous t-shirt in recent years? I thought he's said nice things about the band.
I never did understand the hate it got. Though my opinion on Pulse has declined considerably. Too long, with too many songs which are themselves too long.
It's not for everyone, but I dig Rick Wright's first album. It almost comes across like a bit of necessary self-medication in the midst of a likely-worsening vibe among the Floyd members at the time.
Have you seen the blu-ray? I thought the interstitial stuff would ruin it, and there might be one that's a little awkward, but the whole thing is gorgeously shot. It could almost be THE definitive version…..at least visually.
Oof. Not sure I can go along with Pros and Cons. Maybe he should have compromised a LITTLE.
The last one, especially. I think I actually wanted more "Floyd-ness" in it than there was. I think having Wright for the previous one helped in that regard.
Ehhhh….can't quite back you up on that. There's good stuff on the 2 last solo records, but I think the Division Bell is basically the best album Gilmour ever did solo/post Waters.
I'm pretty sure they did video record the Wall shows, or at least some of them. There is a tantalizing clip included in the Immersion set of that album, of them doing Happiest Days Of Our Lives. It looks incredible.
Yep. I suppose it's debatable whether that was strictly due to Gilmour joining, or also due to Waters taking on writing duties. But either way, the band was doing far more incredible stuff just 4 years after Syd left.
I believe we already know what that would look like. http://content.internetvide…
Happy as I may be for the Cubs fans, the fact that this is the, what…FIFTH? sports-related victory parade to happen in this city since I moved here 16 years ago is a significant reason why I was pulling for the Indians.
No Youngblood? I was looking forward to them casting actors that had no feet and gross physical deformities, per his design.
There was a WildC.A.T.S cartoon as well.
Well, guilty feet have got no rhythm. Nor counterpoint, or sense of melodic line.
All of these issues are going to make for hilarious knowing references within the final movie, once it's made.
