And while not a SyFy original production but rather an import, Continuum is definitely a Canadian sci-fi show well worth people's time.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the former show gets its English name from (the German title literally translates as Our Mothers, Our Fathers.)

The incidental music (that is the music played during episodes) gets better as the show goes on, particularly when Guy Gross starts regularly writing them.

I guess it's the extremely dark lighting that made it feel largely Hannibalesque.
Oh, those laughs were partly faked. Sort of - they'd artificially insert laughs that were recorded for the show, but it's still what is called a 'sweetener.'

I have three shows here. The first is Generation War, about which I can say considerable good - it's not perfect and I understand people's issues with it, but it's an incredible achievement, a Band of Brothers-esque German miniseries from the other side of the war.
Though if HBO did renewals solely on the basis of this website, Enlightened would have a third season.
