True, but it doesn't have discussions of a lot of specific scenes or jokes or if the B-plot worked as well as the A-plot, or whatever (and it is a review of five episodes.)

However it is also the final season, which bodes ill if both Community and Killing end this year.
Take that bat and run with it. And while we're on the subject: Masaki Kobayashi's pretty good too.
Kurosawa made many great non-samurai films really. Let's hear a little love for Dersu Uzala, the film he made while in Russia.
It's basically my favourite film without qualifications.
There are very few film scenes I just weep at.
Dude, Ozu and Kurosawa are wonderful, really, but can we get a bit of Mizoguchi love here?
Right. Lucas was influenced by Kurosawa to the point he lifted material from one of his movies for his own movie… but so did Sergio Leone.
And then he began to get downgraded circa Throne of Blood to play increasingly minor roles in the Kurosawa ensemble. IIRC Donald Richie made a pretty convincing argument that how Shimura would have been a better choice for the lead of Red Beard than Mifune.
To give credit where it is due, the structure was IIRC the idea of Hideo Oguni. The film originally had a more conventional, linear structure.
I was actually encouraged to watch Breaking Bad by having someone compare it to Ikiru, so yes.
It was a really, really, really funny show and now it's gone.
Well nobody says it hasn't aged. Hell, it included a topical appearance by Tip O'Neill.
Actually every show does this. They've decided to create a new TV Reviews section (more of them here; http://www.avclub.com/searc… ), which are distinct from the TV Club reviews. Among other things it allows them to post non-spoiler reviews of stuff that hasn't aired yet, like this, but also complete reviews of a…
Isn't that all of them?
@avclub-884c4beddd8c98bb3b016bdfcc1bcdf8:disqus seems a more 'bee in my bonnet' kind of person.
You're welcome!
To be clear, that was a reference.
I went through Don't Trust The B—— in Apartment 23 in a matter of days.
I know a surprising number of fans, so I decided to set it to record and maybe catch up with the first two seasons before this one concludes.
