This is true, but I do know more than a few Trekkies for some reason. It's the ideal gift recommendation for that person in your life who has an opinion as to whether or not Sisko is better than Picard.

If I was giving the gift of webcomic, I'd go with Larp Trek, in the sense I have actually been going around linking it to people (though to be fair, I found out about it in this site's DS9 comments.)
I DON'T EVEN OWN A LEFTIST MEDIA
Exactly, and these jokes were lousy and in poor taste. Hence my comparison to a famously lousy and in poor taste joke made by Tosh.
It would be and would also never happen. Any new Star Trek series will be extremely light on continuity to previous series, so that a new audience would be comfortable jumping in at this point and would deal with Trek canon on its own terms.
I've wound up using different accounts depending on where I'm accessing the AV Club. All my broad, non-avatared Disqus posts are from my phone, for example.
I'm not really finding the idea someone could not pronounce your name because it's not waspish enough funny, tbh.
It always gets way more comments than Brooklyn Nine-Nine, too.
Angry reactionaries are everywhere. Hell I remember reading a deadline article about a Love/Hate actress getting a leading role on AMC show and the only comment was an observation how the show would fail because it's starring a woman.
Well they did co-finance it, so it's a different relationship than other shows. While NBC aired the pilot first, Sky Living overtook them by a day a while back.
This is true. But if I'm picking just one book I know what I'm picking (others would probably say The Dispossessed and just as fairly.)
A.
And yet in the context of Returned its fellow Canal Plus series Spiral is the the Spiral I'd be more likely to think of.
I'm pretty sure some people in the show are dead.
Great choice.
I think Enlightened may be number one, as Todd said it'd be his top pick of the year when it ended.
Stoker: Definitely the best American film using something from Old Boy released in 2013.
Movies: Earthbound, obviously. Not because it's a great movie or even a very good movie, but it's a fun movie, one I related to to an uncomfortably hilarious degree, and I guess most people are unlikely to see it otherwise. Or if you just want a great movie, I'd go with Wadjda.
It does feel given how much endings matter to serialized TV this is a bit like reviewing a book just before the last chapter.
The confusing part is when they have like 'entire series watched for review' of a still airing show like Good Wife and then I'm … so is Good Wife not getting a sixth season?? I AM UNCLEAR.
