Totally agree! I guess I'm among the 2% of people who liked the Keanu movie, which I think speaks to my tolerance for the genre. But I cannot stand this. The writing is artlessly mechanical and directionless. The lead character is egregiously lacking in genuineness, authentic humanity, or—god forbid—nuance, and it's

I hope for each episode in the new season these two ladies both receive checks for "EIGHT F*CKING THOUSAND DOLLARS".

I really have no idea why, but this sequence, ending with the sound of Homer's brainless form hitting the floor, is one of my top 10 favorite Simpsons moments ever.

I hope that's the only person who thinks of Dinklage as "disabled". More like "gifted"! Hummina hummina.

Counterpoint: James Franco is the best thing about every episode he's ever been stunt-cast in.

Seriously! Are you other guys watching this on like, iWatch screens? Streamed over a dialup connection? Because I don't see how anyone could possibly not get this. They are, from the first instant's glance, obviously band-aids, and obviously supposed to be!

"…the network’s credibility with LGBTQ audiences, which is on the upswing thanks to Looking."

Been to any museums lately? That's exactly what all of them try to do. The only limiting factor is really their budget.

Psychics would clean up. Any bullshit story about something giving you special insight or access to The Departed would land a ton of spendy suckers.

Great review! I'm so happy to see classic Simpsons recognized for its comedic/artistic riches… happy that such an enthusiastic audience still exists for these detailed look-backs, and happy the AV Club finds talented writers to do them.

Wow.

I think we're meant to think the public is down on this guy's particular "they're not heroes" crusade, rather than down on spirituality generally.

My favorite part was when he slipped some pills into the pigeons' birdseed to get them to reveal the right color to bet on.

Phrases film critics should avoid typing: "much needed comic relief".

Hmm, I was quite sure that Selina wasn't at all concerned with the First Family's well-being at Kent's announcement, but rather was trying to find out whether and when she could move in to the White House.

Yeah, how on earth do you pull off an involuntary facial twitch as an actor? I would be pretty terrified that if I practiced it until it looked real, it would become real and stay with me forever.

You guys are such babies! The Hapsburgs totally stole that gesture from Charlemagne.

The gist I got was he was just very oddly thrown by Selina's twitch, racking his brain to figure out what it meant or what was wrong with her. From there it's a pretty common occurrence with public speaking: you fall off the horse and can't get back on until the race is over.

Baseball Joe intentionally standing right in front of Selina was hilarious. I wish if anything they had been more subtle about Selina trying to crane around him, but I guess it's pretty believable that that's exactly what she'd do.
