Yeah, ordinarily she would be the kind of person I 100% hate or am bored by. But when she expresses her philosophy, it kind of comes down to, "Here's a thing I want to do, and I *can* do it—because the universe has decided I can get anything I want—so therefore I will do it really well." And then she does. So far her

Another stray observation:

weirdness
The entire review reads ironic to me.

"In conclusion, it is true that you have won this award."

I never realized he was a real news anchor. That explains how well he nails the delivery of "…what that means for your weekend!"

Oh, Sookie.
All in all, a good, entertaining episode. But…

Yes, I was also thrilled about the deaths. In fact, the second most* suspenseful moment of the show for me was waiting through those opening credits hoping it would turn out the mama was dead too, which wasn't clear to me in the cold open. Yay!

Yup. Apart from the orphan's "question" about Leela's non-story, that wasn't very entertaining.

These are all spectacular examples of how wrong anyone is who attempts to criticize the B-plot of a golden-era Simpsons episode. It just can't be done.

I think the first person I came out to was a friend whom I wrote an email that was like 13k long. In retrospect, Homer's quote would have been exactly as informative.

I agree Edna is a fantastic character. Yet when I try to think of her best moments, I come up blank. All I can think of is hilarious Miss Hoover moments, which are universally driven by the presence of Ralph Wiggum.

No love for Suzie?
I'm surprised not to see more people praising season 1's "They Keep Killing Suzie"! I thought it was fantastic.

Also, the production values really didn't seem that high! Especially the cheap-sounding, obviously synthesized soundtrack. Are real instruments SO expensive?

wow
I can't believe anyone used the word "sprint" to describe this episode. When it was finally over, I couldn't believe it had only been an hour. It was padded and boring, but might have been ok if it had been 20 minutes.

Let's not forget that Schwimmer has his Greenzo money to fall back on.

delivery
It's the oldest joke in the book, but the delivery really sells it for me during Q's appearance in the conference room:

My favorite part of this episode when I was a lad was imagining just what would be involved in executing omnipotent beings who don't want to be executed. The concentrated chaos of a tornado seemed like the appropriate physical manifestation of that kind of metaphysical event.

I think "the information" is probably what you study if you "major in marine biology," if you know what I mean.

Missing the mark
"Forget the cliche of the sullen coffeehouse poet…"

Just recently learned of and watched the entirety of Party Down. I found it great but uneven. For example, I didn't care for the big "farce" episode. The finale episode was fantastic, though.
