Yes, there was - only recently, though.  It began with the listening parties for Channel Orange, and people have been guessing about this for the last week or so.  Ocean even wrote in his preceding post that he was dropping the letter because he figured he might as well clarify the discussion.

Not a very romantic view of poverty: it's a film about the apocalypse, after all.  There are some moments were it veers toward idealization, but I think most of the film is ambivalent in the very best way.

Should be spelled "Tchoupitoulas", no?  That's like a secret passcode for the NOLA born-and-bred.  Gotta know how to say it and spell it.

Never read the comics, so not sure I'd qualify as a fanboy.

@avclub-f121d09285898f1c66d66f1e6f0455a6:disqus : in principle, yes, but this version's a bit more fleshed out.  Like I said, I'm a sucker for the surrogate parenthood plot, and this version goes into a lot of emotional territory with the question of what it means to be a family when you're raised by someone who isn't

I don't like 2 for any profound reasons: I like it for the pure joy of the thing.  It's the moment Raimi realized how silly the whole series was, and cranked up the comic book factor (reaction shots of people in danger are especially good, with the sudden zooms into comic-panel poses and expressions.)   It's a fun

I dunno; Robertson is fine and all, but I didn't get much out of his arc in the Raimi version other than a fairly perfunctory set of moral lessons.  (Spoilers, I guess?)  The voicemail thing in this iteration was much more effective for me, especially in how they withhold the full version until the end.   Maybe I'm a

Oh, also: Emma Stone is an upgrade from Kirsten Dunst, although you could say the same about a pile of wet cardboard.  Dunst was just awful.

Little bit of both: the fibers already exist, but he builds the shooters and loads them with cartridges of the stuff.  I think it's a good compromise, given what would have been required for him to invent the webbing, too.

Counterpoint: I think this is better than the first and third installments of the Raimi trilogy (2 is still the high-water mark, for sure), and Garfield is a far, far better Spider-Man than Toby Maguire was.  His gawky and gangly take on Peter Parker is much more interesting, and much more convincing in his
