We all have our ambitions.

I get that they're in Radio City (just one of the many thing Rosie O'Donnell can be blamed for), but I don't understand taking time away from actual Broadway performers to spotlight them. Are they even under an Equity contract?

They just generally don't let non-nominated show do numbers, which is a shame and argues for an entirely separate Broadway-selling broadcast that has nothing to do with giving awards.

I thought it was odd that there appear to be more people of color in Newfoundland than there are in whatever neighborhood Evan Hansen lives in.

I got a very "Waiting For Guffman" vibe. Very "Stool Boom."

It is actually literally in the charter of the broadcast, which is something some people (including myself) have argued leads to one bad show (advertisement for Broadway plus chance to honor artists) when it could more effectively be two decent shows.

I was not saying I agreed with it.

It's hard to feel sad for an artist who suffered in comparison only to himself.

Daddy, daddy, get him out of here!

Could Jesus play the saxophone?

I'm not going to add my story to this thread because this is still recent enough for me that I'm crying again. But you hit the nail on the head.

This may come as a real shock to you, but movies continue to live on and grow after their initial release. It's not rewriting history to point out that in the 30 years since it came out the movie has become important to multiple generations, as the recent sold-out Fathom re-release and the Anniversary Blu-Ray edition

Quite possibly because, for whatever reason, a narrative has arisen that the use of dialect in the song is racist.

I think your last comment is extremely reductionist and belittling about people's attitudes to the show. Certainly no one thought this was a "happy fun town," but if you missed the fact that the original show was groundbreaking precisely because it juggled multiple tones and multiple characters with varying levels of

I think that's just a false memory. There are two separate things you're conflating — the cassette tapes, "Diane…The Twin Peaks Tapes of Agent Cooper" is basically a short repurposing of every scene we see of Cooper recording interspersed with roughly 15-20 minutes of new interstitial recorded material by MacLachlan.

I think your anger is coming from a good place, but not necessarily fair. I have been loving the show and I appreciate the gradual process, but I also am getting impatient, not because i want things to be "solved" quickly but because I am becoming increasingly aware that this is a limited series.

My parents are still around, doing their thing, and I still love them. But eventually you learn how to disentangle yourself from unsolvable people when they are being unreasonable, or you get choked by them. Being an independent adult can make all the difference in the world.

I did see the show, you know. :)

Sometimes decent people have terrible kids. It's not ALWAYS just nurture, you know.
