Your Uncle beat your Aunt?
I have to learn to read the comments more slowly.
"Sharp" is exactly how I will remember him. He seemed so alive that it's hard to believe he's dead even at such an advanced age.
That little comic book nonsense has made companies such as Time Warner trillions of dollars over the years. Or do you think that mass entertainment is handed out for free?
There was also the basic fact that Bob Kane barely did any of his own drawing for the majority of his career. He was not an especially talented artist, but he did know how to manage a studio full of ghost-artists. Kane was one of the only creators of the Golden Age who made a profit from his creation, largely because,…
Always good to see someone stand up for the rights of the embattled 1%. ;)
Jerry was a lovely man who was a great force for both creativity and creator's rights in the industry, and always happy to chat with any fan and share stories of his long and fruitful career. I am sorry that he has passed and count myself lucky to have spoken with him more than once.
Points for a random Twin Peaks reference.
Same here- those Paul Coker buck-toothed character designs are somewhat bearable for me in stop-motion, but I find them hideous in 2D.
Also, what lengths does it go to to say they don't know each other? Kermit says, "IT's the gang from Sesame Street!" It's not like they're presented as strangers.
As pointed out below, they were in the Muppets Take Manahattan, and individual Sesame Street characters interacted with The Muppet Show Muppets on a regular basis. Bert and Ernie appeared in the second episode of The Muppet Show. Big Bird appeared on a later one and also had a hysterical cameo in The Muppet Movie…
I STILL wear Osh Kosh B'Gosh. They hold up.
They were actually really good. Cinamoonchy croonchy.
Personally, I need a movie where the Muppets aren't reduced to supporting characters in their own movie, but YMMV.
Bearshare? Isn't that a gay dating site?
Harvey Korman was, in fact, the first reluctant guest on The Muppet Show. However, many sources confirm that he wasn't pretending. The story goes that he had no interest in doing a puppet show, no less one that was filming in the UK, but work was dry and he had a film shooting out there, anyway, so he agreed to go- on…
Am I really going to have to be the one to point out that Aznavour's "inchworm" is clearly closer to six?
My favorite part (and by "favorite part," I mean "the part that most made me question that this wasn't satire") was the bit at 4:11 when Jackson says "We;re not allowed to say 'in Jesus' name, Amen,', because of separation of church and state, but they're allowed to behead their wife, legally, in Ameirca," and the…
Actually, that's pretty much exactly what Michael O'DOnohugh said. They felt that Henson cared too much about his characters and they were just "writing for felt." This was of course the highbrow crowd who wrote "The Bees."
Like a lot of things Bret McKenzie was told are "the rules," this was demonstrably false back in the actual Henson era. The Muppets talked about their relationship with puppets on several occasions on the original series. In fact, one of the first jokes on the show was self-referential- Kermit drinks a glass of milk…
