Yeah, I thought for sure that they'd seen Broyles meet up with them and were going to kill him. Even though we've only known Etta for a few episodes, I'd already become so attached to her, and seeing her die was devastating, IMO.

Hey, Scrawler! I didn't realize you'd caught up on Fringe, though I also haven't been frequenting AV Club very often lately. Glad that you caught up in time to catch the final season along with the rest of us.

Huh. I haven't watched season one in a while, but those are good catches. Glad to hear that there have been hints of this storyline in the past, showing that they're not just pulling this all out of their asses.

I feel the exact same way about Fringe. I recognize that it might not be as well-made as, say, Mad Men (which I also love), but it's probably the show on right now that I have the most emotional investment in. I love it just for existing, and whenever I'm watching it, I just feel giddy-happy.

I thought Georgiana Haig did a really good job. I think the emotional detachment is one of the things that makes her seems so eerily similar to Anna Torv. I didn't really have any issue with her acting.

Agreed. On some level, it was heartbreaking to hear that their marriage had broken apart and was less-than-perfect, but as you say, it also feels fitting. And I think that this angle will also allow the writers and actors to explore new facets of Peter's and Olivia's relationship.

I think the dandelion thing was mostly symbolic (i.e. hope), and I think Walter was feeling a mixture of despair, because of how bleak the future they found themselves in, nostalgia for the world he'd left behind in the past and a bit of optimism, for lack of a better word, because it's a sign that perhaps things will

Same here. Honestly, I think just jumping right into the future is definitely the right move. I still believe that one of the reasons why the season 4 finale wasn't as effective was because we'd already seen what was to come in "Letters of Transit", and frankly, that became more compelling than the story that we were

I think I largely agree with Noel. Since it looks like the entire season will largely be based on this one arc, rather than having any episode-specific plots, I have a feeling that all of the episodes in this season will be seen very differently once the season is over and we can really see how it all falls into

I agree, especially since I feel like there are plenty of Spanish actors who you'd think are well-known enough to get the filmmakers a decent budget (of course, this is assuming that money had anything to do with why they changed the nationality of the main characters). I mean, why not cast, say, Penelope Cruz and
