Radiohead took me a while, but try listening to Kid A while going out on a walk late at night. Changed my entire view on that album. OK Computer inexplicably clicked despite my initial comment after hearing Paranoid Android: "Thom Yorke sounds like a bitch."

It. Is. Not. The. Same. Thing.

Fun fact: My favorite album by The Beach Boys is Wild Honey. Love it.

Again, I like Ramones a whole lot, and they had a hell of a lot of impact, but I think that the bands I'm bringing up have a bit more. It's about evolution and steady output, which one would argue Ramones had for four or five records (despite their later output being underrated), but I personally remain less

I absolutely agree, despite the fact that I usually prefer the band setup. Pretty much everything you mentioned is fantastic and most certainly compare to The Beatles.

See, the thing is that Ramones didn't evolve a whole lot. The reason that I bring up bands like The Replacements, The Velvet Underground, R.E.M., X, Talking Heads, Pavement, and The Hold Steady is that they evolved a whole lot while releasing a steady output of greatness.

True, but that happens even more in community college. I went PSEO (a program that allows me to take classes at a community college for high school AND college credit) and this school they go to reminds me a lot of that place. Only difference was that I was in ONE GIGANTIC BUILDING THE ENTIRE TIME and they

The Seacrest Jokes
They've made a Seacrest joke in every episode. This promises to be the next Binky The Rabbit. While the Seacrest jokes started in The Soup, they'll raid Community. While Binky The Rabbit started in Life In Hell, it raided The Simpsons.

I dunno, the people often seem very uneducated and the teachers are far stranger than they should be. I think the fact that nearly nothing takes place on campus at night (barring that protest) is a really helpful cue.

That's probably why I think that The Velvet Underground and R.E.M. might go on top of The Replacements, but I insist that if America buckled down and listened, The Replacements would become way, way bigger.

Uh.
Wasn't Dancing In The Dark a number one hit? I recall it being one.

Don't worry, I like me some 'Mones and 'Eddys, but X is artistically superior to both of them.

Only complaint.
The subplot with Abed was mostly limited to half of the episode, which I guess they had to do because they couldn't stretch that experiment thing over several days, but it still felt weird.

God, no.

"I thought the whole point was that the wedding dance was fucking terrible? That was the main reason Jim and Pam got the fuck out of there and actually had a nice, romantic wedding, before the rest of the office ruined their day."

Whoops, I forgot with T.Rex that we're just talking about America. Temporarily forgot why I hadn't mentioned The Clash and then said "Whoops on the T.Rex."

And, to a lesser extent, T.Rex.

As their legacy grows, expect The Hold Steady and Pavement to go up there.

I'll say The Replacements, but I can't believe that no one said…

Ramones? Please. Best American punk act is probably X.
