I don't know.  I mean Pikes Place Market is (other than the Space Needle) the big thing everyone goes to see in Seattle.  Considering that it's a food market, it would be kind of weird if they didn't do a challenge there.  Plus, none of the ingredients in Pickle seemed particularly tough to deal with.  Pickles and

Hasn't Top Chef almost always focused on the local restaurants and landmarks? The New York and Chicago ones did. And I can't really think of any challenges that were "cool" except this one.

Really agree here. And, to me, it seemed like every choice they made in the adaptation was the blandest, most obvious one. Turning what was a purely intellectual battle of wits (where gender was almost irrelevant) into yet another sexy woman vs emotionally-unavailable-genius story was a dull choice.

Some strict groups don't give full credence to the letters of Paul. Hence, they remain kosher (don't know how that squares with Acts, of course). Others just keep kosher as a sort of remember your roots thing. Still others keep kosher because they have a weird interpretation of Jesus's fulfilling the Law thing.

See I loved the book, but it killed me.  I just remember all those impoverished desperate dust bowl people donating money for polio victims on FDR's birthday.  I tried to imagine people now loving a president so much that they'd give their tiny amount of money and throw a huge party on his birthday, and I just can't.

Did anyone read "Out of the Dust" when they were younger?  That book made me cry myself sick.  And the descriptions of the children drinking grey milk and people dying of dust pneumonia has stuck with me.
