I don't think it is.  It's a reasonable generalization to make when one is presenting an argument.  A person could, for example, begin an essay saying, "The reason many people dislike Girls, is because it is made up of unpleasant self-indulgent characters," or "The reason many people dislike Girls, is because it

I don't think anything in the article suggested that everyone should love Girls.  The point of the article was that the tone of the criticism and the reason many people seem to dislike Girls is rooted in misogyny and/or sexism.  It seems pretty obvious that people's taste in entertainment can reflect and be informed

That's funny because my mother told me that she wasn't allowed to see The Sting when she was a kid because it had a swear word in it.

I LOVED the Great Escape!  I think kid-me saw it about 20 times with my dad.  I think he got tired of it long before I did.

Aren't they getting paid for like maybe a few weeks of work?  Even if they only made a few hundred dollars a piece, that'd be pretty good for back then.

I suppose it's a bit general, but it seems like a pretty normal phraseology.  I mean, people often say things like, "The world is divided into two types of people:  People who love strawberry ice cream and people who loath it," when, in all likelihood, there is a much larger, third group of people, who've never even

I think it's safe to say that practically everyone went to high school.  And even if they don't get the bachelor's degree, lots of people went to some college or community college.

No, it's mostly words at random for me too.  Sometimes, fate smiles though, and it's weird enough to justify something like, "Huh.  Odd name for a tractor-trailer company."
