That's exactly why he released that chapter. I thought for sure last night when I saw the episode. The book chapter was way cooler with Arya being in Braavos.

I think John Legend and Alicia Keys were terrible. Mainly because of Alicia Keys. It's all about her all the time. She totally over did every line. I thought John Legend could have been fine on his own. The turd of the night was Katy Perry. Talk about someone with NO business covering that song. It had no life at all,…
Yup. I totally agree there about the reunion. Also, John was the rebel of the group, but he understood that the band was popular; he understood the meaning of influence in his music. I am sure he would have been there last night.
I based mine on songs that were primarily written by one person. I know that Paul wrote "The Long and Winding Road," John wrote "I Dig a Pony," etc. Ringo is questionable, as I don't know what he actually wrote. Any of his songs work for this list.
Ha! I tried to narrow it down to make it easier, but it's still not. Good answers anyway.
Good point. Didn't think of that.
The times have changed. People in general aren't writing great music. We have too many distractions to occupy us now. When bands like The Beatles and The Stones were coming up, music was the ONLY outlet for them. They were hungry. Try to find that today.
I think they should have had more bands who were actually influenced by the Beatles be apart of the tribute (Radiohead, Pearl Jam, etc.). I was scratching my head with the selections of Maroon 5, Katy Perry, and John Mayer/Whatever the other guy's name is.
Which songs did he write though? Paul wrote Yellow Submarine for him, and George wrote most of Octopuses Garden for him. Ha! I'm not sure he completely wrote one song. Maybe With a Little Help From My Friends?
I disagree with Katy Perry. While her voice sounded good, I thought it was very boring. I do agree with you about Annie Lennox. Her voice does not age. It's almost effortless when she sings, and there's so much power in there. Great performance.
Someone started a favorite Beatles song and album thread. I think it's too difficult to pick one song. How about we go favorite song from each member (Ringo is optional). Here goes:
Great song. Great album. I agree that it's impossible to pick a favorite. There are too many songs.
Revolver with Rubber Soul a close 2nd. Favorite would song, for today, is Tax Man :-)
I don't think it's dissatisfaction at all. Most of us thought his death was needed to progress the overall story, and it was done well. However, he was a fan favorite so it kind of sucks that he's gone.
So they've killed my two favorite characters (Jimmy and Richard) so far. Great finale though. Looking forward to next season!
I say Van Alden goes next. Michael Shannon is getting movie roles left and right these days.
I think the writers have to start weeding out non-historical characters in order to progress the story-line. Richard was a non-historical character, and a popular one. The writers probably found it easier to kill him off than to write sub-plots just to satisfy the general audience.
Yes!! I just figured that out like a week ago. I knew he looked familiar all year, and then it hit me. Did you also know that Vito is in that scene as a different character?
Yup, that's definitely a possibility. Although I think Nucky "wants out" of business with Lansky, Masseria, Lucciano, and Narcisse to get the war started.
Lucciano gets deported in history. I wonder if they'll adapt that to the FBI story-line this year.
