This is a show in it’s 5th season. It is behaving very much like a show in it’s 5th season. I have laughed several times each episode, sometimes because of an actual joke, sometimes because of the WTFness of it all. And every episode has kept my eyeballs on the screen with the sheer visual shenanigans of what is

If your theory is correct, the explanation is that they’re just currently on a wackier Earth seems like a very lame plot crutch to me.

Anyone else notice that there’s been way more swearing this season than in previous seasons? Tonight’s episode wasn’t too crazy, but a few of the earlier episodes featured every member of the family constantly swearing at each other...

Jeez, I enjoyed it - though really should’ve been a separate Thanksgiving special. Feels like the ire stems from the very things they’ve needed to fix: poking at the Myth of Rick Sanchez. Rick can be an Omega-God genius, but he’s still quite falliable as he’s still human. And he is so damn petty. Also the pulling on

A lot of what’s missing from this season is meaningful family conflict. The show used to be fairly brutal in its depiction of characters trying to win another character’s affection even if they hurt a third character’s feelings in the process. There was the Rick/Beth/Jerry triangle, the Rick/Morty/Summer triangle, the

It gets an A from me just for using Timothy Olyphant.

I think I figured out something about this season that had been happening a lot, that I don’t think I’m a fan of. See Rick and Morty started in a groundedish version of Earth. Sure, Rick can escape to alien worlds and alternate dimensions and all that, and that makes sense in the logic of the show. But now, Earth in

The President also seems to be learning from Rick to match his abilities: notice how he was able to plan counter-actions for all of Rick’s initial turkey-heist plans, and the fact that his troops had developed an anti-portal force field that they deployed around his house. The President is coming at Rick like Obadiah

Remember when they had that interesting Jessica evolution in the first episode and then dropped it immediately? You’re fifty episodes into a show. You can have episodes that focus on supporting characters. The world is fleshed out enough. Nothing means anything if you keep hitting the same beats with the same

Spider FDR and “We tried to think, “What walks the most?” made me pause the show and laugh for three or four minutes.

I don’t know, I enjoyed this episode. I think what it comes down to is, President Curtis is maybe the only recurring antagonist of Rick’s that actually works. Maybe it’s because he fits the unique niche of someone who doesn’t want to destroy Rick, just control him.

Is it me or has this season of Rick and Morty sucked? I can’t put my finger on it but something feels off with this season.

This wasn’t bad. It wasn’t very good either. I don’t think that is a good sign.

Everybody wanted their Szechuan sauce.

You said almost exactly my feelings on this episode. It feels like someone is checked out at the wheel. Nearly every episode this season has felt like the writers said, “Let’s keep that as a placeholder and come back to it,” and then never developed it further. Someone is checked out at the wheel and my guess is

The president has super-spy style resources and numbers on his side. Rick’s always going to win, but President Curtis always makes it fun to watch.

How is the President even remotely a match for Rick? Rick defeated the Galactic Empire AND all of the other Ricks.

I laughed at the absurd turkey-killing alien stuff, and how the whole ridiculous scheming and counter-scheming was over a turkey pardon (plus Spider-FDR). But other than that, it was . . . fine.

I guess I’m enjoying this season because it feels a lot like everyone is getting used to Rick’s crap and now he’s facing a lot of the comeuppance, and some like the President have escalated it to this ridiculous turkey counter measure.
Ever since the first episode of this year, it just seems like Rick has been put

I think this episode would have worked better if it aired as a special in November.
