Posting from the future- I always saw this episode as more Amy's dream than the Doctor's because everything came down to her deciding to pastoral life with Rory or fun and adventurous life with the Doctor.  She has to choose what she wants- not the Doctor, not Rory- something the Dreamaster tells everyone several

The Doctor could probably use some therapy, yeah, but really in retrospect what stands out to me is the moment where he gets in the van with Amy while staring down the Dream Lord. He has a whole lot of darkness in him, but to be able to stand face to face with it and not despair is pretty intense. Good to see a

real time watching
i am watching the series in real time. i keep having to think back to what i thought/felt a few weeks ago when i read the reviews here.

Good on its own, and a crucial piece of the season's developing arc.
Based on my skimming of the comments here so far, I think everyone has missed the larger picture. Based on what we have seen up to this point (and I haven't seen any more, nor read any interviews or spoilers), this season tells the story of the

Amy's Choice is like three regular Doctor Who episodes smashed together, and I quite liked that. Quick pace of ideas, that's what I love.

I agree that the four-episode run from "Human Nature" to "Utopia" is very strong (although as I've said before, I don't hold "Blink" in as high regard as many others do), as is "Gridlock", and "Smith and Jones" is fun, but as far as I'm concerned the third disc of the S3 boxed set ("Manhattan", "Evolution", "Lazarus"

that's an awesome reading, though i think Smith might be bringing up the 'last of the Time Lords' thing a bit too much
still i love being reminded that, yes, he is an alien

hahahahahahaha it was amazing when rory didn't want to hit the old woman and amy said 'whack her' in the firm tone of voice that she sometimes has…

I agree. Phodreaw. This episode said a lot about everybody in the context of a Star Trek the Next Generation type dream episode. Only the STNG episodes said little about the characters, and only existed so you could kill main characters on screen without consequences.

I liked it…
Very emotionally draining, but VERY interesting to watch; Arthur Darvill's best episode this season, mayhaps.

If Ms.Pond told you to smack an octogenarian with a log, I'm sure you'd to the same thing.

I think a rewatch is
in order. To me this was amongst my favorite episodes of the season (I'm in the States, but caught up with the UK pace). This episode felt like a Doctor Lite episode, but, obviously, with the Doctor. I loved how it played with the characters, fleshed everyone out, gave some much needed pain

Exactly. Having a companion who doesn't consider the Doctor the most important person in her life is a very nice change that plays directly into the insecurities we saw in biting display in this episode.

I love how Moffatt has said he wants us to feel we never quite know what The Doctor is thinking. In his own way, Smith's Doctor is scarier even than Eccleston's.

Liked Amy's Choice
After a couple of episodes that were playing out way too much like Rose's relationship with Mickey in Season 1 and 2, I liked that they took it the other direction. I was getting frustrated and annoyed that we seemed to be playing the exact same beats, and expecting the exact same outcome, but they

Loved the low-key explanation of who The Dreamlord was…
…to me that made it all the more powerful. I also liked the (SPOILERS) explanation that both scenarios were dreams - which makes sense of course, but I didn't think of it before the reveal. I claim tiredness…

I guess we know how Time Lord children are born.

Also, old people getting the crap beaten out of them was amusing. I wonder how many complaints they got?

Amy's Choice
Loved it, love the whole season so far (I'm UK paced). I really think this is the strongest of the revived seasons (certainly stronger than RTD's first) with the Dalek episode being the only let-down. Here's hopping the remaining episodes don't prove me wrong!

The pregnancy suit
There's a great bit of fun from Doctor Who Confidential that involves Karen dancing around in costume….she looked pretty comfortable in it!
