Good for Hickman
He's the best new guy Marvel has going right now, and his FF run has been the best in at least a decade. Putting Spidey into the mix will give a great writer some extra exposure.
Thursday night is my TV night, and I reserve the right to drink half a bottle of whiskey and misuse "inexplicitly," fuckers.
Halloween was above average, but they'd done that gimmick before, and much better, with "Who Pooped the Bed." The Boat episode was pretty great. The Lethal Weapon episode was okay, except for that scene with Frank bangin', that was A+++ hilarity. Charlie: King of the Rats didn't do much for me, and I didn't like…
Whether or not it's Vader TIME TIME Time time time all depends; are you out of your head when we' re not around? OR WILL MINIVANVADER CRIPPLE YOU WITH THE VADER BOMB!!!!
Hope yet
Highly disappointing season capped by a flawless classic. Just enough to give me hope for next year.
This was clearly the funniest episode of the season. You're out of touch, Myles. Soon you'll be out of time.
AV Club has failed us
The Office has been wretched all season. Always Sunny has been disappointing at best. Community has been the best show on television. Yet this week, Office and Sunny crank out classics while Community is fucking terrible, and Community inexplicitly gets the best review. So yeah, no deep…
Yeah, that does leave me a little bitter, even as I watch the shit out of all this other stuff.
"*about* ridiculous shenanigans"
In response to Chuckee, I'm not talking so much as ridiculous shenanigans as the characters getting increasingly one-sided. Charlie used to have an actual normal tone of voice, for instance, and the shrieking was used for comedic effect. Now he does nothing but shriek.
I've been watching South Park since the first fucking episode. I enjoy the series and have stuck with it since I was in high school. I'd say by now, yes, it's pretty goddamn easy to decide if I'm going to like the episode before the first commercial break.
I agree with this guy, the show wasn't that great last night. I don't think that they're "transforming" Charlie, but I do think that the transformation—which really kicked into high gear last season—has hurt the show a lot. That goes for most of the characters, really. This was better than most anything else on TV,…
A third Ace film would probably be the only way I'd ever give a shit about Jim Carrey's career again.
maybe it's time to hang it up for a bit.
FINALLY
A decent episode. I'd call this a solid C+, which is a much better grade than the F- I give every other ep this half season.
Scalped is amazing.
Ex Machina
became a chore to read about 35 issues in, and I felt that the drop-off in quality was due to the television work. I eventually caught up on it, and wow, that last issue is the single most depressing comic book I've ever read. Well-done, if a bit rushed, but just depressing as hell.
I completely agree with this statement.
