I am willing to admit Will Smith is somewhere near Tom Cruise in movie-going appeal-to-the-masses popularity, but I still can't figure out how it is that he gets such big marquee roles. They both essentially play themselves in every movie anymore, or at least that's how I see them.

One of my old chefs recommended his novels to me. There is a reason I don't take his literary recommendations very seriously anymore. At least we both agree that his "working" books are worthwhile.
